Mid and Left with variable position

80 New Member
What syntax can I use to vary the location Mid and Left start at based on a text string? Fox example, if I have a field called "Fieldname" , with data "My Text is in this field", and I want to remove "My Text " and exverything left of it, I can use

Left(Fieldname, 9)

I want something more like this:

Left(Fieldname, [9 relative to My Text])

Sometimes there will be text left of "My Text", sometimes not.

Hi, rando.

Didn't understand what part you want to remove, left or right. :)
Anyway
Split(Fieldname ,"Your Text")(0) will return substring left to "Your Text"
Split(Fieldname ,"Your Text")(1) will return substring right to "Your Text"

G'day, I am using CSS to construct bar charts from nested DIVs. In general this works fine. However, in certain circumstances I need to display multiple charts inline. To get consistent results on IE and Moz I wrap each chart in a <TABLE style="display: inline">. Unfortunately, IE ignores the top-margin and left-margin properties of a few of the charts, which end up in the top left corner of the page. The charts that get this treatment...

Hi, I'm trying to do something that has always been easy with tables - namely use a three column layout, and above the main layout, show three images - one on the absolute left, one on the absolute right, and one in the middle. The one in the middle needs to be centered, as various browsers display slightly differently. However, using the CSS and code below, either the first image is not shown (IE) or the right image is shown below...

For increased accessibility, I've replaced "display:none" with the Off-Left method of hiding my CSS drop-down menus because the Jaws screen reader doesn't see any of the menus hidden with "display:none". The Off-Left method (placing elements way over to the left beyond the browser window) seems to work well in everything except IE 6 for the PC, where it displays the drop-downs about an inch to the right of where they should be. (View...

Hi I am trying to write a code snippet that would display a '?' sign on the top left of a control. I do not want to hard code the positioning of the DIV which will contain that '?'. Is it possible to somehow know the top, left position of the content rendered by a User Control in a asp page. For eg, assume the figure below as a web page and A and B as user controls

I'm back again, Intro: I've got a floating div (outerDIV) with fixed width that contains an image (IMG) and a div that contains a short text (innerDIV) Problem: In FF, the innerDIV is displaying under the IMG because outerDIV is not wide enough to contain both of them (in some instances). In the instances where the outerDIV is wide, I don't have this problem. IE wraps the text but still keeps it to the right of the IMG. FF doesn't...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
