I'm used to using 2007 which allows multiple values in the lookup wizard, this helps hugely with my queries as the database i'm building has information on one parent who may have up to 5 kids.
Now i'm building up a similar database in 2000 and could really use some help, 2000 won't allow multiple values in a lookup field which means if I have a parent who has more than one kid I cant store the details, I have a seperate table for both parent and child, each child gets a unique ID which I then link to the parent table with lookup field, i've tried having one ID per household of children (but this causes problems when I want to collate details on age groups and genders etc) and i've tried each child on a seperate ID (which ideally i need) but this means I cannot link up more than one ID with the parent. Is there anything similar to multiple values I can use in 2000?

I think I understand what you are trying to do. What it sounds like to me is that you have a many to many relationship between your Parents table and your Childrens table. This requires a third linking table: ParentChild. In the ParentChild table you have three basic fields: ParentChildID which is the primary key, ParentID and ChildID.
Regards, and welcome to the Scripts!

The first questions gives me a problem when there are multiple people

In there first question there can be up to 27 answers. So I figured
instead of making 27 different trips to the database I woulc just

I need to secure a datawarehouse table at the row level based on 1 to
many keys on that table. A user should only see the rows they have
access to. I need to be able to figure out which rows they have access
to using a single sql statement and it cannot be dynamic SQL or a
stored procedure (this is a limitation based on the reporting tool we
use).
The conditions can be any combination of "and" and "or" operators. I

I have a subform which represents a 1:N relationship with the main
form. I would like to be able to read values from an external file,
fill the subform with the values read & allow the user to view/edit
the values via the subform.
I thought this would be accomplished using a simple loop; read values,
assign the various fields of the subform & repeat for each row of the
subform. Seems this is not possible, or at least I have been unable...

Hi there,
I am quite a novice to MS Access, and I would deeply appreciate help on the
following:
I have created a list box in a form. I wish for that list box to enter
multiple values from table X
into table Y. Selecting the multi-select property and changing it to
advanced lets me select multiple
entries, but they are not transferred to the destination field
Could you please help?

Apologies for the newbie question. I have created a vb.net program for
my company that is designed to work with Word Templates (about forty of
them that we commonly use) that are selected by the user and populated
(with info from an Access database) at run-time, then saved as Word
documents. The program I have coded works fine -- it does what I need
it to do. But it has two problems: (1) it runs very slowly, and (2) it
does not seem to...

If you develop for others, you probably have multiple versions of Access
installed so you can edit and create MDEs for clients in different versions.
This works fine under Windows XP, even with Access 2007 installed.
It does *not* work under Windows Vista Ultimate. After running Access 2007,
when you open an earlier version of Access, no code works, because the
references are fouled up. And Access 97 does not work at all.
Access should...

Hi,
Is there any possibility to sum all the values in many (say n) columns in a single table using VBA in access 2003?
Say I have a table with 200 columns. Say the table name is TableCOUNT and the columns inside the table have names such as LX1, LX2,....,LX200.
If I use DSum for a single (or a few) columns giving the name of the column, everything is OK. I get a total for this (these) ciolumns:

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
