Combining tables for data entry on a form

72 New Member
Hello,

I have a situation where I have been asked to combine two tables and make a form to continue to enter data. I have created a relationship between the tables and have gotten to creating the form but it doesn't allow me to add a new record. The "new record" selection at the bottom of the form is not selectable. I tried creating a add new record button but that was a no go also. Anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks

I have a date field on both tables and another field called spills_injuries in both tables that are being used to link them

I would look into joining them together in a query using and Inner or Outer joing depending on how you want to do it.

Does anyone know how to use VBA to relink tables between two MS Access databases? We have two databases, one with VBA code and the other with data tables. The tables are referenced by linked tables in the database where the code resides. If we move the database with the data tables to a new directory, the links are no longer valid. I tried to update the links by changing the Connect property and refreshing: Set td = db.TableDefs(0)...

I am new to Access 2002 and have a questions regarding using a form for data entry. I have 15 items I need to keep track of that are listed individually on a form as follows: Item#1Name AmountOut AmountIn Item#2Name AmountOut AmountIn etc. Each day, the user opens this form and records the amount they have taken or put in for each of the 15 items. This form, when submitted,

I'm trying to understand at what point the use of code tables contributes to the efficient running of a database when weighed up against the added work of implementing them in data entry and queries. For instance if I have a lookup table called "tblRisk" which has one field called "Risk" containing the values "High", "Medium" and "Low" is it better design to have a second field in the table called "RiskCode" with the numbers 1, 2 and 3...

Hi Everyone, I'm generally unfamiliar with Access form design, but have programmed Cold Fusion applications for a couple of years. I'd like to build a data entry form in Access that allows the following. First, the data schema: Three tables are involved. The first is a PERSONS table which has two fields, SSNUMBER (primary key), and NAME.

I'm really not sure how to go about this in Access. What I've created is a table for each location. Those tables are identical in format but different in information. The tables are named after key points such as the store number and the store ID. The fields of those tables are generic fields such as sales per day, bank deposit and what not. The first field for each store table is the date and I've set that as the primary key as one...

Hello, I understand the issue that tables should be used for tabular data and not for layout, but I would like some clarification as to exactly what constitutes tabular data. For example, if I have a form, in which the user is required to fill in various bits of information, then laying out with a table makes it easy. A basic example...

This is a question that someone familiar with ASP.NET and ADO.NET DataSets and DataTables should be able to answer fairly easily. The basic question is how I can efficiently match data from one dataset to data in a second dataset, using a common key. I will first describe the problem in words and then I will show my code, which has most of the solution done already. I have built an ASP.NET that queries an Index Server and returns a...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
