Design view moving extremely slow ...HELP!!!
More info would be helpful, like design view of what, Table, Form, Report.

Having said that, I have noticed in Access 2003 that design view of Forms and Reports can really slow down (like go make a cup of coffee whilst waiting for changes to update)

Suggestions (After making a backup)
Decompile database
Compact and repair
Defrag your hard drive

One thing I have noticed in Access 2003 that did not happen in 2000 was that if your form or report does not have a record source (since you will set it on form open) then it all gets very slow. Not found a solution to that (other than drinking lots of coffee)

I have a form with a Form1_Load() Subprocedure and no other code. For some reason, the design view does not come up. If I add a new form, the design view does come up. The form does appear when I execute the EXE. The design view for this form use to come up but I'm not sure when it stopped appearing. I do notice the form1.vb and class1.vb files in the Solution Explorer (Visual Studio.NET) have little arrows in the bottom left corner...

ASP.NET 2.0 master pages are great. However, I want to edit an ASPX page in FrontPage for aesthetic styling reasons. The ASPX page is linked to a master page so it naturally has a contentplaceholder ID. Right-click in VS2005 and open it in MS FrontPage. Source appears file. However, design view (the real reason I'm in FP anyway) will not display unless I remove the ContentPlaceHolder tag. Specifically: <asp:Content ID="Content1"...

I am trying to fill a sqlite3 database with records, and to this end I have written a class that creates the db, the table and adds rows to the table. The problem is that the updating process is *extremely* slow, and occasionally I get the message "database locked". I tried removing "self.con.commit()" in the add_record method, but then nothing is saved in the db. I don't know whether this has anything to do with it, but I have found...

Is anyone having the problem where Visual Studio 2008 hangs for minutes when switching to Design view of an aspx page? I know there's a hotfix, but it has been no help. My co-worker might have hit on something that it is related to Office 2007. This is because we have VS2008 at home with no problems, but we use Office 2003. A co-worker of ours has the same setup (Office 2003 and VS2008) and has no problems. I know Microsoft knows it's...

This is a new problem for me: I have some queries that open very slowly in design view. My benchmark query takes about 20 minutes to open in design view. That same query takes about 20 minutes to open in datasheet view. As an experiment, I deleted all rows in all tables; after that, the query took only seconds to open in both design view and datasheet view. From these facts, I conclude that Access is evaluating the query when I go to...

Hi, This is driving me absolutley insane! Every time I want to take a very complex from into design view or save it after amending it in design view, it takes ages to save. All I can think of is that I make all my queries in the Form e.g. if I have a list box I will have saved the query in the row source of the list box instead using VBA listbox.rowsource = "query". What would be the best way to make the forms faster (to go into and come out...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
