JPG's wont display using Access 2000

Ian
I have an Access 2000 database in which I display many pictures on
reports, the pictures are not embedded, the database just stores the
path to where the pictures are stored. When I select Gifs, Tifs, BMP etc
the pictures appear on the forms and reports. However when I select .JPG
format they don’t appear, no error message simply a white square where
the picture should be. I have used this database for several years on a
different PC without a problem but when I switched to a new PC the
problem started.

I thought it might be an Access Reference problem but all references and
present and correct.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Sounds as there no graphic filter installed, so maybe this a solution for
you :

I am new to Apache Batik and I am now doing a SVG Editor for my project. I use Java as programming language. I use Batik to generate the SVG from Java Graphics2D, as I would like to transform the SVG to other graphics formats (e.g. JPG, PNG, TIFF), an error occured, the error is that the graphics don't specify the size of graphics, so that even I can transform to JPG (for example), but the JPG file cannot display any graphics. Then I...

Hello, Please forgive my reposting of this note with hopefully a more relevant subject line. On an Access 2000 form under Windows 2000 I would like to use a Kodak Image Edit Control to display the contents of a TIFF image file. According to the very limited documentation that I have been able to locate so far, all I should need to do is to drop the Image Edit Control onto the form in design mode, set the control's Image property to...

Does anyone have any advice as to how to get JPG images into an OLE Object field? I have created a table that includes this data type, and allowed Access wizzard to generate a form. I wish to copy various images from the web (in my initial trials, I copied the files to my PC), and which generally seem to be JPG files. However, Access (Access 2000 ver 9.0.2720) does not seem to be able to cope with this. When I attempt to insert the...

I have been trying unsuccessfully to insert (link) small (3K) JPG files into an Access 2000 table as OLE objects. The error message indicates that the JPG file either doesn't exist or cannot be found, neither of which is correct. When I attempt the insert, the correct path to the JPG file is indicated. I have disabled Norton anti-virus utilities before I attempt to do the insert. Are there any restrictions or known problems in...

This seems like a very silly simple question and I am sure I am doing something very easy wrong.....but.....I cant get my subreport to display on my main report! I have tried everything I can think of. The subreport opens fine by itself either in its entirity or when I filter it using client ID. But I cant even get it to display (with or without filtering) on the report. I have tried other reports and none of them display either. And I...

ive managed to piece together this code that creates a backup folder and then copies the (Access 2000) database into it under the new name "Backup YYYY-MMM-DD HH.MM". It worked fine in the database I created to practise and create the code, but when i copy and paste it to the main database none of it works, and i have no idea why. I know the code is probably pretty messy, but i only started to learn VB a little over a year ago, so all help...

I've had to reinstall XP (groan) and all my applications incl Access 97, Office 2000 and Access 2003. In doing so I believe I have installed all the graphics drivers, but my database (97) cannot display jpg images in an image control. It can manage bmp OK, but not jpg. Any suggestions? Also, I used to be able to open a db in the correct version by right clicking in Explorer and selecting Open With .. then had the options of Acc 97, 2000,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
