Hi,
I have a c++ program that creates hundreds of thousands of objects.
Eventually, we would like to be able to create millions, but memory is
limiting us. For example, 125,000 objects currently takes up 286 megs of
memory.
This leads to a couple questions...
First, do accessor functions take up space? Are there certain tricks that I

I would like to calculate the sum of each entry:
A=B+C for each i,j
The easiest way is to use for-loop, but I think the performance is not good.
Is it possible to find out some faster way to do that?

I am used to programming in DOS mode via Borland C++. I would now like
to create programs for the Windows envirinment. Is it absoultely
necessary to use Visual C++ to do this? Are there other tools that can
help me in doing Windows programming via C++? How am I going to create

in utilizing this new deployment method is to reduce the maintenance
overhead as well as making it easier for my users to setup and run the
application initially. I have VS 2002, Windows XP, Access XP(2000
format).

I've read that the if/else statement, or get/set accessor, can be
compiled inline by the C# compiler if they are small enough.
Have you seen any documentation that 'summarized' all thoses
optimizations tricks? I would like to be aware of all tips and trick
that should be used as good programming habits that make any software
coding optimized. I remember that in VB6 there was a lot of
optimization tips.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
