Access Display Mapping

Aloha, I don't what it is called but I want to make a floor plan or
map of say 400 storage units.
I have done this before with "Stationary " storage units by creating
text boxes on a form page and using mouse-over to bring up data, but
now I am on a project where the storage units are changeable!

I created a form with subforms and using "conditiona l formatting" I
was able to do the color-boxes criteria thing, but it is a very large
memory hog and get "cannot any more forms" errors all the time

So is there any free or nominal cost add-on programs that will allow
me to create an easily changeable map. thanks Francis

I do not know of an Access add-on for doing what you want, but Microsoft
Visio, another software package in the Office family, should handle the
mapping nicely. I believe it can be controlled from Access via COM
automation. Some years ago, I observed an application that was based on a
"spreadshee t visual model" for "mapping" -- it's possible then that you
could do what you want also directly in Excel and use VBA code to utilized
information saved in a Jet (aka Access) database.

Hi! I'm trying to access a EntityBean from a servlet via the bean's local home interface. The EJB and the Servlet are together in one .ear file and I'm using JBoss 3.2.3. I think the "<local-jndi-name>" in jboss-web.xml is wrong. But I don't know what to write there. I've searched for examples or other help, but I haven't found anything useful. Thanks for your help in advance!

Hi everyone :) I have a split database with the backend on a shared folder which users access through the LAN. The front end sits on their hard drives. Apparently windows 2000 has a limit of 10 connections to shared drives. When mapping the drives I can only get 7 people out of the 9 I require before I start getting messages telling me the connection limit has been reached. I am told this is because windows counts

When displaying data from the database, very often the field names are not suitable so custom headings have to be created, For example, the column storing zip code may be named zip, but when displayed, it may need to be displayed as "Zip", "Postal Code", "Zip/Postal Code" etc. DataGrid/DataList allow headings to be created but it's usually hardcoded. And the hardcoding is even worse if a row of data is to be displayed in columns, e.g....

Lets say that I have an application consisting of 3 files. A main.py file, gui.py and a data.py which handles persistent data storage. Suppose data.py defines a class 'MyDB' which reads in data from a database, and main.py creates an instance of this object. How does code in gui.py access this object? Here's simplified pseudocode: MAIN.PY import gui, data DataObject = data.MyDB(blah)

Hi. I am fairly new at Access and used to use Lotus Approach. There was one function in Approach I used to find very useful and I can't seem to find it in Access. It is to do with importing records into an existing table. Rather than automatically add to the list of records I have in my already existing table in Access, I would like to update (and add if necessary). For instance: I may have a table in access with fields such as first...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
