Hi,
VB.NET is saying the file I am creating is in use by another process and
won't complete its task of moving the file to the specified destination
folder.
Here is my code (the main bit anyway)....

I'm running Windows server 2003. I've never had any problems with debugging,
but now I cannot debug ANY of my projects. I'm getting this error:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. Access is

The only thing I've done recently was installing all the latest Microsoft

Does anyone know of some good resources to use when troubleshooting why one
cannot debug ASP.NET apps? I am using Win2K pro SP4 (IIS 5) on a brand new
machine and I cannot debug even the most simple ASP.NET app on my localhost.
I have read through all kinds of MS KB articles on this issue and checked
out a document on gotdotnet.com titled "howtosolvedebuggerproblems.doc" to
no avail. My exact error message when I try to debug is:

Hi, i have strange problem.
My code cannot run in debug mode (i use VS 2005).
When try to run debug, there is a dialog say
"HEAP: Heap block at ... modified at ... past requested size of 1
Windows has triggered a breakpoint in TestBug.exe.
This may be due to a corruption of the heap, and indicates a bug in TestBug.exe
or any of the DLLs it has loaded.
The output window may have more diagnostic information"

OK, I've looked up this message but am not finding how to get rid of
it: "Cannot evaluate expression because a thread is stopped at a point
where garbage collection is impossible, possibly because the code is
optimized"
I'm trying to debug, and it's rather difficult when I can't find the
values of expressions because of whatever is causing this message.
Is there anyone that can tell me what I can do to get rid of it? How
do I...

Hi,
I have a pretty complicated program which consists of the following basic
modules:
1. a C# application
2. a C++/CLI application which is controlled by the C# app via IPC remoting
3. lots of native code which is wrapped by the managed C++/CLI code
A remark to this complicated structure: We are controlling hardware via

I tried to put an "on error" statement in a routine and got the message
that I cannot user "on error" and a lamda or query expression in the
same routine.
Help does not list anything useful for explaining a "lamda" expression
and so I don't know what one is and I am not doing any database stuff in
the entire program.
So what does this error message really mean and what can I do to get an
On Error into the routine?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
