Using acImportDelim, but sometimes it drops decimals on import -Access bug?

I have a database that I regularly import data into from a text file.
The text file is produced by payroll software, and it is always the same
format.

Most of the time my acImportDelim command works fine, but occasionally
(less than 10%) it will not import decimals. For instance, a value of
7.6 in the text file is imported into my table as 7.

This is driving me crazy as I can't understand why it does this
intermittently. I've checked the text file and the decimals are
definitely there, it's just that Access is truncating them. Could it be
an Access bug?

I'm using Access 2003 (file saved as Access 2000).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I solved it by creating an Import Specification file. It looked like
Access was treating the offending field as a Long Integer rather than
Double. Still not sure why the problem was intermittent though...

I am having a problem using Numeric-24.0b2 in conjunction with the NetCDF module from ScientificPython (version 2.4.9). This problem does not surface using Numeric-23.8. The problem arises in using the "min" function on a NetCDF floating array. In 23.8, the "min" function returns a floating scalar, while in 24.0b2 it returns an *array* of length "1". Below I list a simple NetCDF file and a Python script that illustrate the problem. When I...

Hi All, I have looked and looked for an answer to the following problem (without success), and would be very grateful for a solution. The problem: The SelectedIndexChanged event code of an Asp.Net DropDownList changes text in an adjacent TextBox by either concatenating SelectedItem.Text (from the DropDownList) if it is not in the TextBox, or removing it if it is in the TextBox. This generally works very well.

Hi all. Quick question (but aren't they all?) :) Do you think it's a good idea to use the 'from <name> import *' statement when using a GUI module? It seems on wxPython's site, they recommend using import wx nowadays, but I wonder if that advice is followed. Also, I'm still reading some Tkinter docs that seem to use 'from Tkinter import *' a lot. I understand the danger of doing this, but is it safer in these cases, given the more...

for nth square root: use math.sqrt n times for example ... num = math.sqrt(num) ... 5.0 all comparisons work fine for arbitrary floating point numbers... For readability print them with required precision. for example True (0.20000000000000001, 0.20000000000000001) ('0.20', '0.20')

hello, I'm running Python 2.5 and want my programs to run at least under Windows and Linux (preferable also Mac). So I guess I should always use relative paths. From most modules I can call a global function, that should import a dictionary from path deeper than the module itself. The import is done in the global function. In that global function, I get the modules path by

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
