Keypress --> avoid vbkeyreturn in textbox

Ina
Hello guys,

I have a problem with the keypress event:

I would like to avoid an event --goto next textbox using a
vbkeyreturn: but did not work any suggestion how to do that if it is
feasible.
thanks

Ina

If KeyAscii = vbKeyReturn Then
KeyAscii = 0
'msgBox ("No Enter")
End If

Or
If (KeyAscii = vbKeyReturn Or KeyAscii = 10) Then
msgBox "No ENTER key"
KeyAscii = 0
End If

Try testing KeyCode in the KeyDown event, rather than KeyPress.

Hi all, For some reason this bind is calling the donothing function, like it should, but is then allowing the text to be inserted into the Text widget. Here is the code: self.framebody.tag_config("name", underline=1) self.framebody.tag_bind("name", "<Any-KeyPress>", self.donothing)

Hi, I am trying to catch the KeyPress event on my datagrid but it isn't working... i have also tried registering the handler with the event like this... dgGLBatch.KeyPress += new KeyPressEventHandler(dgGLBatch_KeyPress); but nothing changed. I was wondering wether a custom table and column style might have an effect on how this works???

Can anyone help me with the following issue? I've seen some similar questions here, but none relating to a textbox control.... I have a form with several controls, one of them being a textbox control with AutoPostBack set to true. I need to fire a method ONLY when the form has posted back due to a button click (no problem here), or from the user typing text in the text box and hitting enter. I can't call this method from any postback,...

I have a VB.NET user control that I wrote - this control has three or four other controls on it (textbox, combobox, datetime picker, etc). Now, whenever the control is on a form and the user enters anything into the textbox (for instance) I trap the keypress event to handle some stuff (i.e. if it is an enter key, etc). Now, once I am done with handling the keypress event for the textbox, I then need to pass that keypress event BACK to the...

Hi all, I want to create a small function to monitor the keystroke. For example, if user key in a comma, I want to replace it with a single quote(etc)... In vb6 I an simply check the KeyAscii in the keypress event and re-assign the value to it, however how do I achieve this result in .net? Thanks~ Kay

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
