Batch insert in MSAccess XP

2 New Member
hi,

I am using C# with MSAccess XP. I need to insert bulk of records around 10000 in MSAccess.
So obviously if I inserts each record individually then it will take lot of time.
By using OleDbDataAdapte r and setting its UpdateBatchSize property we can insert bulk of records in single trip to database but this property is not supported for MSAccess because I think MSAccess not support batch update.
So is there any other way to achive this?

Regards,
Vikram

What's the format of the data? If it's in a table format that Access can accept you can just use an append query. If you have to build each record individually then you can use a loop.

Hi, (V8.1 Fp2) Our application uses JDBC batch to execute mutiple insert statements and we saw a strange thing this morning. There were 4 SQL Insert statements in the batch, and we know the 2nd would have violated a Unique Constraint and failed, but the SQL error returned was related to the 3rd statement (which had a FK dependent on the 2nd

I have to execute fairly large batch files (200-300MB) with several million INSERT commands. When I do that from pgsql using the \i switch, I get the echo INSERT 0 1 for every single insert statement of my batch file. Since I assume that this slows down the whole process I would like to know if there is a way to suppress that echo and only get error messages and

I am trying to use Windows Task Scheduler to run a batch file for an already open MS Access database. Below is the syntax to the batch file: Batch file: DailySalesExport.bat REM This runs the macro that exports the reports to the J drive PATH = "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\;C:\Windows\Command" START /WAIT Msaccess.exe "D:\acesdata\SALES\Daily2005.mdb" /x "SnapShotExportDailySales" EXIT

I have a batch file named GetConf.bat. It contains a line like this: ipconfig /all >c:\MyAppDir\IPdata.txt I believe I could run the line with something like ShellWait by Terry Kreft. Any reason I should run the procedure via a batch file call as opposed to launching the command string directly?

Our application currently interfaces to SQL Server and Oracle, we're implementing it into DB2 currently and I have a question to ask. First a little background - We're interfacing into DB2 v8 on zOS (I hope the terminology is right - ours is a Windows client app, and the DB2 is at a customer site and they are taking care of the server), using ADO with the IBM OLE Db Provider (IBMDADB2). We don't use any vendor specific APIs, instead we...

We have a W2K / Access2K environment where recent maintenance has prevented the /X commandline switch from starting macro's. We have several "batch" processes that run at night using the task scheduler and are started via simple macro's to run the code. Is there a way I can determine if I am running "disconnected" so I can use an autoexec macro to determine if I shoud be doing "batch" things or open as usual for a user? Or, is there a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
