In that case, just as a test, try to copy and paste this (original) file to your C: drive (assuming you have full rights there of course), and let us know the situation with the new copy.

Unfortunately, coping the .mdb file from the company's network share file area to my C drive on my workstation still presents the same issue of not being able to modify the copied version.

Well, I have to admit to being stumped.
There's nothing I know of that would cause a file to behave differently after a simple file-copy is made (except file permissions of the resultant file but that isn't the case here it seems).
If I get any inspiration I'll share it, but for now I'm stuck :(

Try making a copy into the same place as the original and see what happens.

Coping the file to the same location/folder produced the same issue. I know it would take some time but could I create a new access database and simply copy the code from the original database to recreate the forms and export the data from the original tables into the new tables? Basically recreating the entire application from the code and data?

It actually wouldn't take much time at all.

Create a blank database and you can import everything from the original: Modules, Forms, Reports, Tables, Macros, Queries, everything can be imported.

Just out of curiousity, right click on the mdb file that you've copied and see if the file is Read Only.

Hi, This is a silly question. I'm relatively new to asp.net and asp at all. But I always had this doubt. I'm working with Visual Studio and while exploring the ASPCommerce starter kit, when I switch from design view to html code view, I see many keywords underlied, like if they were invalid, however, they're not, they display fine and the project runs fine.

Hi, how do i check if other applications is already connected to an access database (.mdb file)? Let's say I have an application that opens an mdb file, for example - test.mdb. Then I opened another instance of the same application and it will also connect to the same mdb file, in this case - test.mdb. What i want is for the application to detect/check/filter that another application is connected to the .mdb file, thus preventing the second...

Can decompiling an A97 mdb result in fixing minor nasties that may be responsible for some premature terminations of A97 (We are sorry. MS Access 97 needs to close.... messages). Hello everybody! I have just found out that the sharing properties of a single database (mdb file on a network), accessed by 3 users, change depending on the user accessing the database. That is, with the file opened by 2 users at the same time, in my computer, the sharing properties appeared as set to share (not exclusive) and single entry-lock. Nevertheless, in the computer of the other user, the sharing properties are set to exclusive mode...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
