Changing Date Type when importing Excel spreadsheet

When I import a file using the Import Spreadsheet Wizard and I get to the
Field Options screen where it allows me to choose the fields and the Indexed
option, my Data Type option is grayed out. Shouldn't I be able to change
data types at that stage for each field as opposed to waiting until the data
is uploaded and changing in the table properties? Can someone tell me how to
turn that option on. Save a lot of time. Thanks

Mark

Hi All, I am sent an excel spreadsheet on a daily basis. Sometimes it contains 10 rows; sometimes it contains over 5000 rows. I copy this spreadsheet into another spreadsheet and verify the format of the data (some data is missing, which I can add, some 15 digit data needs to be text rather than numeric, sometimes the incoming numbers are not consistent and need leading digits, etc.). I then import this data (from the second...

I use a complied query to export to Excel like this: SELECT * INTO . FROM tblExcelData; But I have a situation where I need to export several tables into the same worksheet. The idea is to have each contiguous block of data on the worksheet separated by 50 or so rows so a graph can be inserted between each set of data.

I have an Excel spreadsheet containing a column of hyperlinks that I need to import into Access. I have no trouble importing (in my case actually linking) the spreadhsheet to the Access table, however the column of hyperlinks lose their URL's in transit and no longer are active links. To try and fix the problem I am using this bit of code in my Excel spreadsheet to copy the URL of each hyperlink into a new column that can then be...

Hi all - Last resort time. I'm importing data from a spreadsheet that I receive from one of my vendor using interop.excel. The date field in excel is entered as 4/7/2006, but when I retrieve the value, it returns a double 38449.0. I can't figure out how to convert this value into a proper date. I have no Idea what excel is doing with this date. Also, when I enter in 38449 into

Hi, I am having trouble importing a spreadsheet from Excel into an Access Database. I have noticed that even specifying the Cell Type of the Excel Data Cell, When I import it, still get Import Errors. Like Type Mismatch. The funny thing is that its all done automatically via the Wizard, so I dont even specify what the field type should be in my database, but it

Hello, I am having trouble importing data from an Excel Worksheet. When I try to import the data, everything works except certain columns that contain dates, where it replaces the date with a null in the access table. To import the data I do the following. 1. Create a table based on the excel spreadsheet setup with the following query sSQL = "INSERT INTO " & TblName & " SELECT * " _

I'm trying to import an Excel spreadsheet into an existing Access table using Office 2003. Ultimately, the plan is to do it programmatically using TransferSpreadsheet, but to check that the file has no problems, I've done it manually with the Import Spreadsheet wizard. The worksheet has 43 rows, and I import a named range defined as "=Sheet1!$C:$E". The import works, but I get a table with 64K rows, all but 43 being blank!

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
