Hi,
I am working on a genealogy form. The only table (so far) lists everybody
in the family, one record per person. Each record has an autonum ID.
The parent form (frmMainForm) displays the data in each record, which
includes the ID of the father and the mother (who also have records in the
table). One record per form.
I have a Tab Control in the form, and in one of the tabs I have a subform
(sfmSiblings) in which I wish to list...

I would like to be able to place a command button on a primary
(parent) form that opens up a subform. I want to use this subform to
search for or limit the recordset of data in the primary form. The
database is setup as follows: the primary form is named
"TestDataCleanup" which is based on a table named "Test_Results". This
primary form has multiple subforms associated with it, including
"Names_Display" and "SiteAddresses_Display". The...

Hi All,
I have a Find Record button setup in most of my forms in order to find
a specific customer's details. I have just noticed today though that
this search will only find the customer if it already has linked data
in the subform. This totally defeats the purpose of my search, which
is to find an existing customer's details in order to enter new data
in the subform.
I was wondering if there is a way, in the form/subform situation,...

Is there a way to use the built in access find/replace to search values
in a child form accross multiple parent records.
IE.. If have a parent form has a record for every baseball team with
summary info and a child form that lists all the players. Can I
search for a players name and be taken to the parent record that has
this player in the child form.

In my form I have a master table and a details table linked 1xM. I can
search through the whole parent table but I also like to be able to search
through the child table fields to find parent records. Should I design a new
form for this or can I somehow make this work in the same form.
Thanks in advance,
john

Hi,
I have 2 subforms embedded within a main form. Whenever I do a Filter,
the data in the main form appears, but nothing shows in either
subform?
Is there a way round this?
I was using the Filter-by-Form button on the toolbar.
I've also got a Find Record button on the form...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
