Help on Conditional Format

8 New Member
Hi,
In my database, one data's type is hyperlink but we could also enter text without hyperlink to anywhere else. Hence how could I set the cell's format conditioning on whether it is a real hyperlink or just plain text? In another words, if there is hyperlink in the cell, the color of of the letter would be blue, otherwise it would be black. I searched this website for my problem, but couldn't find the corresponding solution to it. Do you have some suggestions? Thanks a lot for your help in advance.

If a field data type is hyperlink then all values should be valid hyperlink. Set up another field to handle non hyperlink values.

Hi, Mary,

Thank you very much for your reply. A further question: is it possible to set up one field which could either input text or insert hyperlink? Thank you very much for your opinion.

No as I said the data type sets the type of value that can be put in a field. It is either hyperlink or text.

(acc 2002) I've got six unbound text boxes on a subform that has a white background. Each of those six boxes has an expression that when true, will change its background from white to another color. These text boxes need to go behind a single line of other bound text boxes (which show the actual record). I.e., the purpose of the unbound text boxes w/conditional formatting is to highlight the record/background with one of six colors.

Dear NG, I would like to format a record in a subform, dependent on a value in one field. If one field in the record I show in a subform (datasheet view) is true I like to view that particular row in green, all other rows just as they are normal. Is that possible ? regards Allan

I have a simple database which was originally written in Access 97. When converted to Access 2000 file format it ran flawlessly in Access 2002. I've just tried to run it in Access 2003 and I am seeing the following behaviour: Some of the fields on the continuous main form which is a list of jobs with their related details "flicker". While this is going on the form seems to function as it should and isn't locked up. If I click and hold...

I have an A2000 database in which I have a continuous form with a tick box. There is also a text box with a conditional format that is based on the expression , if it's true then change the background colour. In A2000 it works great, but in A2003 the background doesn't always change and when it does it only changes when the record looses the focus. Any way around this? Is it a bug? Or have they "improved" it?

Given: Access 2002/2003 A subform in datasheet or continuous view, placed on a tab page (this last may or may not matter) Conditional formatting applied to some controls on the subform - format expressions are the same for all controls Under some undetermined circumstances, when such subform is displayed, the controls on the subform start to visibly flicker, the cursor in the subform stops blinking, and CPU utilization goes to 100%....

Does anyone know a way you can use conditional formatting to create a banded style view as is commonly seen on the internet. (In othe words the first record appears on a gray background, the 2nd on white, the third on gray etc etc.) I could write an expression based on the odd/even status of the primary key but this wont work when sorting and filtering is applied. Any suggestions gratefully received.

A comment and a question To anyone who is using conditional formatting, beware that in Access 2007 the color pallette is not the same as the color pallette in Access 2003. So if you have a particular color you were using as a standard throughout your application, the only way to continue using that color is to code the color. Anyone else notice how forms in Access 2007 display the conditional formatting much slower than in Access...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
