??? for Stephen Lebans about A2KSHTML and IE7

Hello Stephen and all,

This is such a cool group. I really need to spend more time here.

A few months ago I noticed some brief discussion here about the fact
that your excellent HTML Editor for Access is not yet compatible with
IE7. At that time, you correctly pointed out that IE7 was still in
beta status and that you would not consider any update to A2KSHTML
until after IE7 was officially released. Obviously, that was the only
sensible response to the issue at the time.

Now that IE7 HAS been released to the public, I wonder if you've
thought about what it will take to make your HTML editor operate
correctly on a computer that has IE7 installed.

My group has an Access 2003 application that is widely used in North
America. It has included your HTML Editor for a long time and it has
always worked fine with IE6. However, as soon as the user
"upgrades" to IE 7 and then tries to load your HTML Editor in the
Access 2003 app, the entire application just shuts down!

Unfortunately, we have now developed a bad case of "Lebans dependency"
:-)' Would you please take mercy on us little mortals and let us
know if and when you plan to make A2KSHTML compatible with IE7?

Thanks again for all you awesome contributions.

Hi, Tim.

And in case there's any doubt, Lauren Wilson, while posing as WCase, was the
originator of the _first_ question to Stephen Lebans for upgrading his HTML
editor for IE 7:

She didn't "[notice] some brief discussion here . . . " a few months ago.
She initiated it herself.

"Another"? It's Lauren Wilson again. She's doing a better job of
covering her tracks, but old habits die hard and she still exhibits the
same habits, so you can easily tell it's her.

"Demanding" !!!!!!!???? You insufferable elitist snob! I have NO
idea what the hell you are talking about. I dare you to tell me what
words I used that implied I was "demanding" ANYTHING!

"Tiresome?" If this process is so "tiresome" what the hell do you
find invigorating?

Whether Stephen Lebans answers me or not is ultimately irrelevant. I
already have better solution to the problem anyway -- thanks to
coworkers and others who are clearly more civilized than you.

Ah, I knew the style sounded familiar. Yes, this was the person who
last year sometime vehemently moaned and groaned about how not sharing
anything with other people unless large sums of money were involved was
going to make the world a better place... and the idiot has benefitted
from the very same practice she said was something only stupid people did.

Lauren/Linda/Anna follow your own advice and hire Stephen. Don't be
such a hypocritical arsepick.

"Elitist" is more fitting to someone who looks down on others who offer
help and ideas as part of normal non-mercenary human interaction,
Lauren, or whatever your name now is.

Welcome back, Lauren Wilson.
"Demanding" !!!!!!!????
Maybe not demanding, but you've jumped the gun twice on this issue. You
first asked if Stephen Lebans's free tool would support a beta product four
months ago, and when he answered he doesn't usually address new versions
until after the first service pack is released, you jumped the gun again by
asking if he'll upgrade his free tool to support the new version before the
first service pack has been made available.
I
already have better solution to the problem anyway -- thanks to
coworkers and others who are clearly more civilized than you.
You always say that. Your co-workers and "others more civilized" than us
give you what you ask for when you can't get it from this newsgroup. It
seems to me that if they were as talented as Stephen Lebans (which I think
we can all agree is very, very doubtful), you would have been using their
tool all along, not _his_, so you wouldn't have asked him twice to upgrade
his tool for your application that's "widely used in North America" --
implying that it's a very important application for your organization and
worthy of your talented co-workers skills.

Congratulations on your impending marriage, but why would we bother him?
Can't we call you at your phone number on your Contactus.php Web page? We'd
like to introduce ourselves to someone who obviously thinks so highly of
this "cool group" as you say. How better to "spend more time" with us than
by talking to us? :-)

But if you'd rather stay with written correspondence, you're always welcome
to join us in the newsgroups. Please check your political campaign hat at
the door when you come in to join technical discussions so that we can try
to remain on topic.

Hi All, I'm using Stephan Lebans' nifty code for automatically resizing text fields to the size required to show (almost) all text in that field (CanGrow3, thanks Stephen!). In general this function works great. However, I sometimes have a problem with the last text line. Often the last line is just below the end of the field and to view that line I have to scroll to it. Is that a known problem? And is there a solution?

I am using Stephans code to change the background color of the Access container in Access 97, the code works fine when running in Access in the normal way. The problem occurs when running the program after creating a RunTime version when a gray rectangle appears at the top left hand side of the screen. This effect is present when using the sub that changes the color and when using the sub that calls up an image.

I am trying to adapt Lebans' ReportUtilities to export reports (to preserve formatting) from an Access 97 application. I have made the reference to his mde and copied the modules into my db. In the On Action property (of the export control) I inserted the code "pf.ExportToMSWord rptApplicantReferral" which I had copied from his sample db except for the name of my...

I am trying to produce a program that will output any Access report to an editable Word document. So far it is working well but slowly with text boxes, labels, and lines. I now need to try to output one of Stephen Lebans' RTF2 controls on the report. He indicates that a copy and paste method will work from a form to the Word doc and that is fine although I have not done this in VB, rather used ^C and ^V I suspect that a similar method...

Hello all! I've been using Stephen Lebans' MouseWheel stuff for a number of years now, without problems. I've used on different combinations of Access and Windows, and have had great results with it. (Even better, considering what I paid for it.) Just hit a situation where it didn't work, though, and I was wondering if anyone else has hit this yet: *A dumb terminal, running Windows 2003.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
