DateTime Picker Nightmare!! - Microsoft Access / VBA

Greetings,

I have an issue with my datetime picker where its not active until I select another field on my form.

Any field on the form.
I have tried to manually setfoucus and give values with events and form load with VBA without luck (unfortunately I cant remember my exact actions to repeat here, apart from banging head on keyboard alot)

If i right click when running the form and action 'remove filter/sort' it automatically becomes active too.

All this has become an issue because dll files and other components on my pc are different than those used at my university. Very confusing.

All machines (university and mine) run acess 2003 (mine Sp2 theres Sp1) but for some reason it states my database is acess 2000 format, really confused.

Other than that all is good :)

If it reports the database as Access 2000 format then surely it will let you upgrade it to the latest version?
Remember to take a back-up first (or upgrade to different file instead).

Im not worried about the access 2000 file format at the moment.

Think I need a break from access keep making silly mistakes!

My booking table has an autonumber field as the unique reference for a booking.
On my form load to enable the user to add a new record I have added the following

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers

 Private Sub Form_Open(Cancel As Integer

             DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdRecordsGoToNew

End Sub

The Datetime picker is only activated when the reference number is autogenerated, this happens when a form field is bound to a table field.

I know its trivial but somehow seeing the datetime picker become active after updating a field doesnt look athestically pleasing.

Is there anyway around this?

I can't think of anything I know which could help you on this one.

When you speak of a date/time picker are you talking about an activeX calendar control. If so what code are you using.
