Is there a way to create a shortcut to open a MS Acccess DB and have it
go to a specific record?
In my DB, when a user delegates a record to another users, I currently
send out an email to the personing saying they been delegated to
followup on an item.
I list the reference number, but was thinking that it would be really
cool if I could attach a shortcut in the email that would go to the
record.
TIA. 4 2912

Sure. Use the /x command line argument to run a macro of your choice.
For example you could write a macro that calls a VBA function that
finds out who's logged in, looks up in a special table what ID value
to go to for that user, and opens the form to that value.

Tom:
Thank you. I was hoping to pass the reference number via the command
line since a user can have many records. I want to be able to go to a
specific record, not a set of records.
Any ideas?

You can use the Command function to retrieve the entire command line.
However, I think I would still use a table in the back-end, which
would indicate which primary key value the form should jump to when
the special /x macro executes.

But more than one user may go in it. So how would the macro know who
is coming in?

Hi to all,
I am displaying a list of records in a subform which is embedded in a
popup main form (in order to ensure that users close the form when
leaving it).
It seems to be impossible to delete a record in this subform.
When I switched modal off and tried to delete a record from the list,
I deleted a record on another form (below the popup form).

A97. If you set a forms properties to ShortcutMenu = No, the entire
form is disabled from displaying a shortcut menu.
If you set the property to Yes, all controls have a shortcut menu.
I have a form that I would like a shortcut menu on 1 control and no
shortcut on any other control in the form. But the controls that have
no shortcut display a default shortcut.
Access help states " If you set the ShortcutMenuBar property to a value

Hi,
the application I am writing has a MainMenu and a DataGrid
(UltraGrid).
Now I have to edit the text of each cell in this grid. So far so good.
All works fine in editmode but if I press a key which is also a
shortcut it doesn´t work and the menuitem-clickevent will be
performed.

There is one more problem I am facing but didn't get the solution. In my

Actually in my VB.Net solution I have two projects (1) MYPROGRAM (2)
MYPROGRAM_INSTALLER. MYPROGRAM is a "Windows Application".
MYPROGRAM_INSTALLER is a "SetUp Wizard"...

I've written an application using VB.NET 2003 and packaged it with a
deployment project. When I use the setup program to install the
application, however, it doesn't work. More specifically, the shortcut
placed in the Start Menu doesn't work.
I've noticed that the shortcut is strange. Unlike a normal shortcut, I
can't see the command it is supposed to issue. This makes it very
difficult to debug the problem. Furthermore, I suspect that...

Is there a way I can direct the cursor to a specific field (variable)
in a form by typing the field name while in form view?
I have a form with many fields, and it would be nice if there were
some method, similar to FIND RECORD (e.g., CTL + F ), where a dialog
box would pop up and let me enter the field name, and then jump the
cursor to that location.
I currently do my edits by locating a record to be changed by ID using
CTL+F and...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
