Totally hacked off here. I've written a user control that contains a
text box, a required field validator and a button (these being the
cornerstone of a search facility), all as ASP.Net server controls. The
user clicks the button, and server-side code does a redirect to a
search page, appending the search expression to the URL.
Great, I thought, let's move on. I then wrote an mailing list page
which included the aforementioned user...

In a regular html form, when user press "enter" key, the form will be
submitted.
However, in ASP.NET web form, a form will only be submitted (post back) when
a special button is clicked. Many user get used to click "enter" key to
submit a form. How can I use "enter" key to submit/postback in ASP.NET.
Thank,

Hi:
I'm running a simple query on an Access Table from VB6.0. The operator can
make several different selections. Based on their selection, a different,
specific SQL needs to be run. So, when the operator says... "Do it"...the
click procedure goes to a Function (based on their selection)...the specific
function builds the correct SQL and returns it...then it sends that query to
the final procedure to run the sql, retrieve the data and...

Suppose the field length is 25 characters.
After entering the 25th character, it should be available to process.
Program should not wait for the user to press enter/return key.
Thank you.

Let's pretend I'm creating an Employee class, which I will later
subclass for more specific jobs. Each instance will have stuff like a
name, title, degrees held, etc. etc.
So I'm wondering, is the best way to get all this information into the
object to just have a really long __init__ method that takes each argument?
Does a question like this depend on how the class will be used? I'm
trying to construct it in a way that is independent...

I have a data entry application. Due to ease and location, the users
utilizie the enter key to move from field to field, rather than the tab key.
Depending on the data they enter into a field, they may skip fields in the
"tab order" so I do not simply use process tab key. Application works fine
except for an oddity. There is a button on the form. If the user hits enter
to arrive on the button, then swaps (via MDI) to another form,...

Who knows how to prevent submitting a form on the press Enter button before
all fields on the form are filled up.
People just enter the first field hit Enter and it submits the form and
doing validation,
of course flushing with the bunch of messages because rest of the fields are
empty.
I remember I had some pages where wrote the code to go on the next field
when pressed the Enter button (Tab like), because it didn't go anywhere at
all....

I am using Access 2003. Does anyone know a way creating a field in a form that you can only accept data from a list to enter into it, but you can enter multiple entrees in the same field? For Example, I would click on the field and a list or 20 terms would come up. Then I click on a term and enter it into the field (like a combo box) but I can then click on the field again and enter a second term into my field with out deleting my first one. ...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
