Access Database Template

1 New Member
I am looking for a Template for a database to track employee's time on tasks.
I am trying to create one myself. I have basic skills with access which doesn't seem to be enough.
I intend to use it for my group leaders to use to enter hour information for each employee. The employee list is fluid due to people comeing in and leaving the dept.
Would like it to display all employees for the shift (3 shifts in total) and then be able to enter time for verious tasks. Each employee can do more then 1 task each day.
All this info can then be displayed on a report as to who did what for how long and totals of time spent on the tasks.
I have taken many stabs at trying to build this myself and always come up short.
Anyone lead me to a template that is sort of what I am looking for?

Hi,

You know that this part of the enterprise is very sensible... Me as a project manager responsible for ERP integration understand that those information will participate for the calculations of many services...

Calculations of salaries, calculations for productivity and capacity, calculations about the product value!

So a lot of people have interest for this kind of application and maybe this is also one reason that you can't finish a project with those dimensions.

Maybe before proceed with a system like that it's better to understand the opinon of your firm about your software inovation strategy. Maybe they want to invest into integrated system like ERP? Maybe this application about the work have to have more functionnalitie s andserve other services also...

In all cases you have to range the needs by functionnalitie s... One time you have the consensus about the importance and priority of functions you can do them you self!

See also the functionnalitie s offered by the ERPs in this domain! It'll be usefull for you! :)

Does anyone know how to use VBA to relink tables between two MS Access databases? We have two databases, one with VBA code and the other with data tables. The tables are referenced by linked tables in the database where the code resides. If we move the database with the data tables to a new directory, the links are no longer valid. I tried to update the links by changing the Connect property and refreshing: Set td = db.TableDefs(0)...

I've got an ACCESS 2000 application that I'm developing. One of the outputs of this app will be to generate a series of 'jobs' which corresponds to a record in the database. Each record will be printed on its own page which I've set up as a report and that's working fine. Accompanying each job is a Word (or Excel) document. Most jobs will have Word (or Excel) documents unique to the record. I know how to establish a hyperlink field...

Hello, We are in the process of examining our current main application. We have to do some major changes and, in the process, are questionning/validating the use of MS Access as front-end. The application is relatively big: around 200 tables, 200 forms and sub-forms, 150 queries and 150 repports, 5GB of data (SQL Server 2000), 40 users. I'm wondering what are the disadvantages of using Access as front-end? Other that it's not...

I have inherited a bunch of dbs which are are shared among a small group in my dept. We typically use the dbs to write queries to extract data, usually dumping it into Excel. Most dbs originated in MsAccess 97 or prior and have been converted to 2003. On occassion user 1 will open a db. When user 2 opens the db it will not let user 2 modify macros and what not. I can understand this and realize we could split the db; it is not worth ...

We have an access DB that 2 input people use to tracking incoming patients. There is a form for them to do this but they find it confusing to use (it's plainly laid out, no one else complains about it). Management has decided that they want me to link 15 of our templates so when a template is opened and text entered into one of the text fields it will automatically be entered into the database. First of all, is this possible? ...

I use MS Office 2003 and would like to run several Word mail merges from Access. My code so far is given below. 1. The code does not do what I want. I want to save the new document with the merge result, not the merge template I start out with. At the moment it saves the latter. 2. I would like all Word documents to be closed in the end.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
