subform getting data from other subform

Using Access 2002. I have a form with several subforms. Subform2
allows the user to insert a record into a table. One of the fields in
this table is an account number, which is displayed in Subform1. I
don't want the user to have to enter the account number in Subform2,
rather, it should pull from Subform1.

How can I accomplish this?

Thanks,

David

You could set it to default to the value in subform2. There's an
article by Keri Hardwick on AccessWeb that shows how to reference the
values in subform controls etc in the forms section.

Hi, I am working on a genealogy form. The only table (so far) lists everybody in the family, one record per person. Each record has an autonum ID. The parent form (frmMainForm) displays the data in each record, which includes the ID of the father and the mother (who also have records in the table). One record per form. I have a Tab Control in the form, and in one of the tabs I have a subform (sfmSiblings) in which I wish to list...

Hi, I have a form that is designed as a data sheet view. Attached to this is a subform with some VB code. When the user clicks on a row, the subform should pop up and run the VB code which accesses the record corresponding to the row clicked. To get this row, I tried using Me.Parent.Bookmark. Unfortunately, this gets the "Current Record" which is set via the navigation

Hi, I have a data sheet with a subform; each time the user clicks on the "+" to show the subform, I want some code to run. I tried attaching the code to a wide variety of events, but at best they only ran the first time the subform popped up. How can I get the desired behavior? Is there an event I missed or is it more complex?

A little background: We have an Access 2002 based user interface to our SQL Server 2000 database. The interface is a tabbed form with two of the tabs containing a subform. Data is pulled from the SQL Server using several stored procedures, one sproc for the main form and an additional sproc for each subform. All data is pulled from the SQL Server using ADO; the resulting client side (disconnected) ADODB.Recordset is then applied to each...

I have a form/subform with the common one-to-many relationship. The form allows user to display records and move to other records via the selector, to add, delete, and edit them, with the related records displayed in the subform going along for the ride. The parent form's recordset has fields string integer COLORNAME CLASSSIZE and a few more that aren't relevant here.

I'm having some trouble going from one form to another and carrying over the ID field (see this thread if you are interested). So I was thinking about ways around the problem. As far as my very limited knowledge of Access will take me I figure I have two alternatives: 1) Nest a subform within my subform 2) Create a "tab" as a second page Here is some background on my project: The user opens a main form with a couple of buttons on...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
