I cannot open an Access report in "design" mode

34 New Member
For some reason, I cannot open an Access report in "design" mode anymore. This didn't happen before. However, I can open the design mode of the form, query, table in the same database.

Please advise.

Checkup the following:
1.Goto Forms/Reports Tab of options under Tools menu
Set the Reports Template as Normal
2. Select Customize under Tools Menu
Select Reports Design and select properties
Ensure ticking of all the options except the first one

This usually happens because the reports cannot find a printer, try changing the default printer to a local printer. The last time this happend to me I installed a dummy printer , namely a Microsoft Office Document Image Writer as default and then I was able to open the reports.

I have a need to open a report in design mode immediately before opening it in preview, to change the Minimum and Maximum scale on an axis on a chart. This results in a flash of the report in design mode just before it is opened in preview mode. Is there any way to open it in design mode hidden? Jeff

Situation: Access 2003 front-end, containing links to Access 2003, SQL Server 2000, and DB2 tables. None of these tables are local. Hardware: IBM ThinkCentre, 10/100 Ethernet LAN Problem: Open a form or a report in Design mode, and bring up the Properties dialog. Now as I try to move from one Property to another, it's like Access is checking the entire recordsource of the form or report before moving the cursor focus. It literally...

Hi, I have an invoice which is being printed on two different trays. This is being done by some simple code in VB, and it works. However, my report goes into design mode in order to change the settings for the printer, and this locks the system for new users to enter and a restart of the database is the only solution. Is there a way to avoid putting the report into a design mode when printing from 2 different trays, or is there...

I must be missing something, but I have a report that when it is opened programmatically as a Preview, there is a limited toolbar which prevents the ability to edit the design, among other things. However, if the use presses the <ESCAPEkey, it automatically reverts to Design Mode. How do I prevent this?

Hi I am writing a tool to extract form, report, properties to a XML format for further analysis (cross referencing etc) using Python. Reports and Forms can be accessed using AllForms, AllReports and DoCmd to open them in design mode but Although there is a collection "AllMacros" there does not seem to be a way using DoCmd to gain access to the macros collection.

Using Access 2003. For this application when one enters data and clicks a command button, code gets run that does the following: For 5 different combo box controls: - create a querydef - querydef is a pass-thru query that calls a stored procedure on a SQL Server 2000 db - set rowsource property of combo box to the just-created querydef

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
