Hi Everybody,
I'm experiencing a weird behavior in a Report and was wondering if
you've encountered it or know how to combat it. I just have 2 fields
in the Detail section, "ReportDate " and "Progress."
In the Page Header, I've recreated a form that, traditionally, has been
filled out by hand. The form contains 27 horizontal lines spaced
evenly apart.
I'm trying to set the Line Spacing of the Progress field so that the
text prints out perfectly above each line. Progress is a memo, so text
will wrap to different lines.
Here is what's happening: The text does not line up perfectly, but
it's not a product of the line spacing, because sometimes the text is
placed a little closer to the underlying line, and sometimes the text
is placed a little further above the line--the lines are perfectly
spaced.
A possible workaround would be to add a line only under the detail
record, so each record will have a line directly underneath. But, I
was wanting all the other lines (blank) to print as well.
Thanks,

I'm sure this is pretty simple but I'm having a hard time with it. I
have a report that has multiple columns and have to change some of the
titles in the page header. As a result, the titles don't match up with
the detail. I've used the all the formatting buttons such as align,
size, etc. but it doesn't seem to work that well. I've also tried
highlighting the page header and detail at the same time and formatting
at the same time -...

I was wondering what anyone might suggest as "best practice" patterns for
streaming out fixed formatted text files with C#? Let's say we get our data
in a dataset table and we need to iterate over thousands..potentially tens
of thousands of rows to create a properly formatted text file -- like an ACH
file, for example. In there you typically have a header, a body block of
detail rows and a trailer. (The trailers usually contain sums of the...

Hi,
I have seen loads of different ways to do this, but the all seem to
yield the same result - text that doesn't flicker when it's moving too
slowly!
Does anyone know 'the best way' to make text scroll...

Override OnPain and OnPaintBackground

I have a form with several combo boxes in the header used to determine the records that will be displayed on the form. When I tab or enter from the last combo box in the header, I want the focus to move to the first control on the form. When I Shift+tab from the first control on the form, I want the focus to move to the last control in the header. The form is a continuous form.
The first control on the form is either a text box or a combo...

all in vb2005
I have three arrays: one 2d array, two 1d arrays. I need to output them into a listbox and align them to columns, which I know how to do using string.format(blahblahblah). However, in this case the user is defining the necessary number of columns. Specifically, I have vb project that effectively gathers the scoring information for a soccer team and outputs it to a listbox. The gamedate array would be the first row, and the...

OK, I’m new to all this, so forgive me if I missed some easy answer to this problem!
I have a report, which is actually going to be a letter. I had no problem adding my return address, salutation and top two paragraphs in the HEADER section. I also have no problem with the DETAIL section printing out the few records I need to show. But now I want to add a closing paragraph immediately after the DETAIL section. I tried to add it in the FOOTER...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
