Hi all,
I need to document a database, and I do need output in Word so that I can edit the output.
I need to describe table and field structure, used objects, dataflow, workflow,
What are the options?
I can think of the 'documentor' build in Access or third party tools like Total Access Analyser (FMS)?
I tested the documentor and exported the reports as rtf to Word.
It is doable for the object descriptions but not nice to work with ...
I downloaded a trial of TAA and looked at it.
TAA seems like a bit of 'overkill' for my needs (300+ reports).
Also I don't think even TAA is capable of exporting the reports to Word, or am I mistaken here?
Is there something 'in between' these two options I mentioned?
What do others here use for their documenting needs?
Thanks,
Arno R 4 1559
Hi Arno,
You could try my new CSD Tools Database Documentation Version 2.0.
It documents several areas of your database and Version 2 now supports
direct output to Word and Excel.
It is no where close to the complexity of TAA and won't provide for all
of your needs, but mine is free so you have nothing to lose.
:-)
You can download the free add-in from this page of my site. Please read
all the instructions and warnings: http://home.bendbroadband.com/conrad.../csdtools.html
In addition, this page on my site may help with tables: http://home.bendbroadband.com/conrad.../doctable.html
Hope you find it useful,

Hi
If you still interested in a tool to documentating databases (Oracle,
SQL Server2000, MS Access and very soon SQL Server 2005) please take
some time to check out our software on www.dbmanual.com
Their is a free evalutaion tool available!
All documentation will be placed in the famous MSDN style and their is
also a tool to automated this task at a certain time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me

Hi.
I'm having some problems with code based directly on the following
httplib documentation code:
http://www.zvon.org/other/python/doc21/lib/httplib-examples.html
I've included the code and traceback at the end of this post.
The odd thing is, using DEPRECATED FUNCTIONS to perform the same
function works fine!

Are there hypertext pages available in 7.3 or 7.4 for
SQL Key Words, like there are in SQL Commands, so a

I have looked on the website and havn't been able to find

Recently, I've been working on an Access application that is supposed to be
the prototype for a larger system that will be developed by a team using
Oracle tools, etc. As such, everything I do must not only work, but it must
be easy to understand and duplicate.
Now, obviously one of the goals should be to avoid anything too "clever", but
I found that the to balance all the requirements of the system, I needed a
schema that could only be...

As the subject above hopefully makes clear, I want to do several reports,
"with lots of fields not otherwise in database". These reports also have
variable-length text. I have defined the following options (all users have
Office 2000):
1. All Access solution. This appears to involve creating forms to enter
data that is just put into a report, and never saved - an exercise in wasted
development time, to my thinking. Also, the...

I have a database documentation question, but I am not even sure how
to phrase it properly so I don't know where to start looking for
answers.
We are developing a database that is based on several different data
standards and schema. I'm finding it confusing to keep it all
straight. What's this field for? Which standards document is it based
on? What are the permitted values? Which business rule governs it?
In theory, we do have all...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
