I'm creating a database in Access 2000 in XP Pro (SP2), I have downloaded
Allen Browne's pop up calender for use in my database, and imported the
forms: frmCalender, frmExample and the Module ajbCalender. I have one date
field (Date) on my main Access Input Records form, I renamed it to
txtStartDate and set the click button property to:
=CalendarFor(, "Select the date")but then I cannot save my
form (Input Records) with this new button,...

I have this exact same scenario. It is new and seems to be related to when
we installed Adobe 7.0 Standard/Professional.
We have an MDB on a LAN file server. Using Access 2K and Windows 2K. When
the application is opened by someone, it seems that if one of the Adobe 7.0
(Standard or Professional) users susequently open the application, they get
the error - "...You do not have exclusive permissions to the database.
Changes that you...

I have inherited a bunch of dbs which are are shared among a small group in
my dept. We typically use the dbs to write queries to extract data, usually
dumping it into Excel. Most dbs originated in MsAccess 97 or prior and have
been converted to 2003. On occassion user 1 will open a db. When user 2
opens the db it will not let user 2 modify macros and what not. I can
understand this and realize we could split the db; it is not worth ...

My alzheimer moments occur with greater frequency these
days, it seems. I sometimes open Access and the same
dbase in a second instance and work on items. If I modify
a form and discover later that I'm working in a 2nd instance
of Access, I close it. The modifications are not present in
the first instance of the program and I have to make them
again. Is there a setting I can make that will prevent me
from inadvertently doing just that?

I am working on a project to build a reporting web app from an exsiting
database that is controled by a local application. The application that
has control over the database creates a lock file to the database and
at that point I can no longer access the database with my web app. Is
there anyway around this? All I need is read only access to the
database to get some report information to display on the web page.
The error I get on the...

Hi,
I need to know if there is anyway of opening a database only for reading
data, is an Access database, the problem is that if the file is open, the
connection fails, saying that the file is already in use.
Can I open the database in a read only mode, or something like that???
Thanxs in advanced.

Here is the situation: I wrote a VB programm, which stores all the
information in a single Access database file using jet engine. It
worked well, however one of my customs reported that there was some
problems with this programm. I checked, the log files showed that the
database was corrupted.
The customer told me that there no 'illegal' operation such as pull out
the plug, or kill the programm via task manager...
So is there any...

Hello all,
When a user starts my app, I run re-attaching code if the links are not
valid, etc. In this routine, I then check the version of the back-end
database. If the version is off, I run code that then upgrades their
back-end db by adding new fields, etc.
However, if new fields are needed, I do run a function that I wrote that is
supposed to determine if there are other user's in the back-end database. If
so, it tells them to...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
