Connecting to Outlook PST or Exchange in a distributed application

Hello,

Does anyone have experience connecting to an Outlook PST file or Exchange
Server database using a distributed database?

I'm trying to access Contacts, Inbox and Sent Items information, but each
client and client site has a different email set up. For instance, One
client site up North operates in a stand alone environment using Outlook PST
files and no network server. While others use a server based PST file,
others use Exchange server (not many, so the Exchange Server requirement
isn't that necessary), and just about every pst file is in a different
location.

I have used the "Outlook()" option in the Import External Data, but is there
a better way?

Also, is there any way to send a message from Access by adding to the Sent
Items box in Outlook if I do get this attachment working?

Thanks!

Its a .net application written in c# One major requirement is "Outlook Integration". The Outlook contact folders are to be used for contact management I want to know what is the standard way to do this these days. Most of the information in MSDN seems rather old I first used the Outlook...

Hi all, I want to apologize if this is the wrong forum for this question. I would like to write an application, in Java running on UNIX, that would insert, read, and mark as completed tasks in exchange. What is the best approach for this? Is the answer to write a web service using C# and then call it from Java? Does OWA already provide a set of web services for something like this? If so is there WSDL to go with it?

I am looping through a Public Folder in our Exchange 2003 server system and i keep getting invalid cast exceptions although the Message Class is set correctly for each item. It works until i get to record 250 and then i start getting the cast exception errors. Once i get one it continues until the last record which is 3500. It's almost like the connection dies after 250 records. OR even though the messageclass is "IPM.Contact".. could...

No longer. Does anyone know how to do this using the new Microsoft.Office.Core and Microsoft.Office.Outlook DLL's that are supposed to be the new replacements? Here's what I had that worked until Outlook 2007 came around:

I have a program that is reading one of my mailboxes. It is polling the mailboxes ever 5 minutes to see if there is a message or not. Is this how Outlook does it (using Exchange as the server)? It doesn't seem to. When a message gets to Exchange, it seems to do some type of Push to Outlook as Outlook has it immediately. If so, ss there a way to make my program do that in VS. We are getting

My organization currently has interfaces in place to generate MS Outlook emails from our business applications. I am trying to determine if it is possible and how difficult it might be to interface with MS Ecxhange or Outlook from a business application and add items to a user's calendar, task list, or at a minimum to set a follow up flag in an email. We are running Exchange 2003 and a variety of MS Outlook 2000 and 2003. We do have...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
