I am trying to link an access database directly to individual polygons or
points (PGDB) in Arcmap, that is when opened the Access link would open
Archmap and then zoom to the polygons or points individual coordinate
assigned to that link.
Thank you

If there is a way to "zoom to coordinates" when you open Arcview from the
Command Line, you can use that with the SHELL function.

If you can control Arcview through COM Automation, then you could learn its
object model and programming and open it via Automation and manipulate its
objects from within Access.

I can open Access from a Hyperlink in Arcview
that is linked to site specific data, but when I try the opposite way I
can only get Arcview to load a Mxd that is a generic with no specified
zoom linking the data in access with individual polygon locations.

I will give it a go!

Thanks

I'm writing a C# class library, to be registered as COM and used as an extension to a commercial application called ArcMap. This approach has worked great for a long time, until... ....yesterday I noticed (in the output window) that the debugger was loading the release version of my projects output dll, rather than the debug version. After messing with the project settings (among other things) to try and remedy the situation, now my...

Hi, This morning I installed Visual Studio 2005 side-by-side 2003. The first problem I've noted is that projects in 2003 that have "Start External Program" set don't do that. I'm creating a DLL plug-in for ArcMap (an ESRI product), so I set the external program to point to its EXE. When debugging, it shows the splash screen of the application it's supposed to start, then bombs with no error message, and the debugging stops (just...

A solution I have created consists of a .dll to interface with ESRI's ArcMap application as well as two executables, an XML document (AddPLSS.xml) and an install package. It compiles and installs without any problems, but when I try to open ArcMap, I get the following error: XML Error: The system cannot locate the resource specified. In (failed) mscoree.dll/AddPLSS.xml. The XML file itself seems to be included in the .dll and the...

I'm brand new to python and somewhat familiar with ArcMap. I have a functioning script that produces a table using ZonalStaticticsAsTable_sa. I'm wondering how I can export that table using python to a csv so that it can be opened in excel. To do this manually with ArcMap or ArcCatalog would take way too long with the number of files. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I'm using Arc version 9.2 and Python version 2.4.1

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
