Access Hangs during spell check (Caught in loop)

I haven't been able to find any fixes for this. I have a form with two
memo fields. Sometimes when you push the spell check button or press
F7 the spell check goes into an infinite loop. If you don't have any
misspelled words, it just hangs. If you choose to ignore a misspelled
word, it will keep looping and asking you about the word you chose to
ignore. If you change that word, access will hang while the spell
check continuously loops through looking for errors.

It's driving me crazy. It doesn't always happen, but often enough, and
when it does it usually requires me to kill the process.

Please help!

Hello all, I am trying to import the contents of an Excel sheet into my Access Database. When clicking the button excel opens allright and does what I programmed (the cells get updated with the value "Geimporteerd" ("Imported" in English). So I get to the excel file alright but after changing the cells to "Geimporteerd" Access hangs. When viewing the task manager it says that the CPU activity is 100% and the only way to get out of this is...

Hello, I inherited an Access application from a previous coworker. It seems the Spell Check is never enabled unless I open the application by holding down the shift key and double clicking the application icon at the same time. How can I enable the spell check all the time? I saw some code posted by Terry Wickenden in this newsgroup. unfortunately his code didn't work for me.

There's this app I wrote a long time ago for a client who uses it to administer the database content that drives their Web site. Last time I was in there' I notices a lot of embarassing typos in the data, and since this data is published on their Web site which is their primary interface to their customers, that's a bad thing. I was thinking it would be nice if I could automatically spell check certain fields, and somehow use the Access...

I've seen plenty of articles on this topic but none of them have been able to solve my problem. I am working with an Access 97 database on an NT4.0 machine, which has many Access reports. I want my users to be able to select a report, click on a command button on a form, which will then automatically create the report as a pdf file and save it to the user's machine. I am using Adobe Acrobat (5.0 I think) and have Adobe Distiller as a

Hi, I am automating Access reports to PDF using PDF Writer 6.0. I've created a DTS package to run the reports and schedule a job to run this DTS package. If I PC Anywhere into the server on where the job is running, the job runs sucessfully, PDF files got generated, everything is good. If I scheduled the job to run at the time that I am not logged into the server, Access is not able to print to the printer. The error is pretty...

Hey Gang, I'm gearing up to retool for the upcoming deer season here in Ohio and I could use some help with very general questions about direction. I will be scanning nearly 210,000 forms that capture deer harvest information. We use Verity's Teleform V9 enterprise to capture the scanned data. To date, I've not done any scripting (essentially VBA) and have not set up any real fancy rules during verification. If there are bad or missing...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
