Launch switchboard from desktop icon

Is it possible to launch a functional Access 2000 db switchboard by clicking
on
a desktop icon? I have searched the Microsoft Knowlege Base but, apparently
I'm not
phrasing my search in the correct terms. Many thanks for any assistance.

set the switchboard as your startup form or create an AutoExec macro
that opens it. Can't remember if you can set it with prefs in 2000. I
think so, though

Sure.
On the database main folder, right-click on the switchboard's name.
Select Create Shortcut.
Place the shortcut on the desktop (or wherever else you want it).

When you click it, it will open the database and display the
switchboard.

Why not just make the switchboard open using the database Tools +
Startup menu?

You can set the switchboard as the startup form in your database. Then
create a desktop shortcut to the database file. Double-clicking on that
will start Access and load the database, which will then open the
switchboard.

Extracting an Icon and Placing It On The Desktop (C# Language) I constructed a suite of programs in C++ several years ago that handle my financial portfolio, and now I have converted them to C#. The only significant problem that I have encountered in the conversion is this one - extracting an icon from the 'KTEntryPoint' program into the software suite and placing that icon on the PC Desktop.

I have looked and looked for this info. All the I/O examples I've found either explicity use a file name or use the OpenFileDialog. When you drag a MS Word document over MS Word, it launches and opens the document. I would like my App to launch and open a document (if it has the correct extension). What is the launch event sequence and where do I pick up the path/name of the file or files that were dropped on the application icon? Any...

Is it possible to display the file created & file modified information on a switchboard? I have designed the database so that when the user clicks on an icon on the switchboard, a form (linked to a table) with records will be displayed. Whenever the user modifies any record in the form, I want the date & time to be captured & stored on the switchboard. I don't care about the date & time when each record was modified (I have already implemented...

After installing my application (which I developed using Visual Studio 2005) on a target desktop, the desktop icon shows the icon that is assigned to the application exe - which is what I want. When I click on the desktop icon to run the application, the icon will flip between the desired icon and a Windows default icon(file/folder?) before the application is loaded. Does anyone know why this happens?

Hi, When I save out an HTML file to my desktop (I'm using Windows XP), it saves with the Firefox icon, presumably because I have Firefox as the default application to open my HTML files. Is it possible to have the desktop icon be the favicon.ico file of the web site from which I'm saving the page? Thanks, - Dave

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
