Splitting an Access db - the next step

I have an Access db that I want to split (front end and back end) and
send to someone to use. I, also, want to disable the 'bypass the shift
key' function so that this user will not have access to the source code.
I know how to do this (and it's working just fine on my PC) but ...

How do I insure that the when the user loads the two files (front end
and back end) that the back end tables are linked properly to the
front-end (because I don't know what folder they will put the files
into)?
Regards,
SueB

Sue,

The simplest thing is to call the other user and work out what folder the
user will save the backend to. (The frontend can be saved to any folder.
Then you create the link to that folder on your PC before sending the files.
The alternative thing to do is to tell the user that the backend must be
saved to the folder you specify.

go to http://www.mvps.org/access/search.htm, and bookmark the
page, then type the word relink into the searchbox, then click
'Start Search'.

It returned 6 results for me, One, titled 'Tables: Relink tables
from different datasources' is probably what you want. another,
labeled 'Tables: Relink Access tables from code' us probably
useful to you as well.

Hi, is there an efficient (pythonic) way in which I could split a list into say 5 groups? By split I mean the the first x members would be one group, the next x members another group and so on 5 times. (Obviously x = lengthof list/5) I have done this by a simple for loop and using indexes into the list. But it does'nt seemm very elegant ...

I scoured the groups for some hands on code to perform the menial task of exporting table data from an Access 2000 database to Oracle database (in this case, it was oracle 8i but i'm assuming this will work for 9i and even 10g ) No one had what I needed, so I wrote it myself. I have learned a great deal creating applications in Access 2002 with Visual Basic code. What is the next step to create applications that can be used as a more stand-alone app or possibly with a web front end? There seems to be many choices from Visual Basic Studio and .net framework. Eventually, I would want to be able to create a CD for...

Hi Can someone please point in the right direction. I have an XML file that gets updated every 4 hours on a web server. I can check the XML modification time in ASP and compare to the databse. If it is newer, I need some ASP code to then import the XML into Access. Been trawling the net for an answer for a while - no joy thanks

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. For...
