Error 430, CopyFromRecords et with DAO 3.6

I know there have been plenty of posts online about this issue, but I
have yet to find a solution. I am desperate for a good answer.

The issue is: with newly-built PCs and, as it happens, our web server,
we are getting an Automation error (Error 430) when trying to use DAO
CopyFromRecords et.

It's your typical copyfromrecords et code:
ObjSht.Range(.C ells(2, 1), .Cells(intMaxRo w + 1,
intMaxCol)).Cop yFromRecordset rs

The only thing we have found that will fix it is to uninstall Access +
Office (XP), delete a bunch of DLLs (VBA & DAO), reinstall Office, and
then reinstall Access. This is not an option for us for our web
server...

Does anyone have a better solution than this? It seems like a hack...
especially for functionality designed to automate Office products.

help!

I usually just give it the upper left-hand corner of the target range - a
single cell.
That seems to work well...

HI - thanks for your reply! I tried changing the reference to the cells
but it didn't work, I get the same error.

Because it's an Automation error, my guess is that is has to do with
the way Access and Excel are communicating, either through DLLs or
registry settings or something. I just have not been able to find
exactly what the issue is or how to fix it.

If anyone has seen a better fix than reinstalling everything (not an
easy option here), or has been able to fix it some other way, please
let me know. Thanks!!

SOLUTION - here's what worked for me (in case this might help others)

I needed to register the dao360.dll. That's it! To register a dll, run
the following command (Start > Run...):
Regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft
Shared\DAO\DAO3 60.DLL"

If it's a different DLL you're having trouble with, replace the path
above with the path to the dll in question.
You don't even need to reboot. Magic.

Hi there, I'm having pain with the VB behind an Access form. The form is used to create reports in Excel based on the details entered in the form. This has always worked without error on my machine (NT4, Access 2k), however as soon as I attempt to create anything on another machine (NT4, Access 2k) which most users will be working from, I receive an automation error. The problem line with the code is:

I have an Access Application which happily uses CopyFromRecordset to transfer values from an access query via a recordset to an excel spreadsheet, this works on three machines. However, when I try it on a fourth machine (same versions of Excel & Access), no records are transfered (I check that the recordset contains records which it does). Any ideas?

OK... I'm not VBA illiterate, but I'm a BA trying to maintain a code-heavy Access 2002 (XP OS) front-end attached to Oracle tables. I have an export to Excel button that worked before the SP2 upgrade, and didn't work afterwards. Research shows me the upgrade caused a problem with a memo field in the export, causing the CopyFromRecordset of object Range error. I found code that is supposed to fix it, but it either doesn't work, or I'm...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
