Simple listbox question

I am new to Access and am having a problem with a simple listbox. This
listbox is in a subform and contains 5 options. I entered these in a value
list. There are two behaviors that I don't know how to change. First, when I
select an item from the list, I have to then click inside the box in order to
get the value written to the table record. If I only select the item and
don't click inside the listbox, the table value doesn't get updated.

Second, when I change records, the listbox doesn't update its value. It
remains on the last value selected. Is there a simple way to change this
behavior? I've tried playing with the box options, but none seem to have an
effect. I've read through a bunch of threads, but all seem to be focused on
more complex use of a listbox. Is there a simple way to update? This is
Access 2003.

thanks.

Hello, I am new to using recordsets, and i am completly stuck with this one. I am trying to use a multi select list box to write records to a table. Something in my code is causing the same record to be written over and over, for example if I have 4 items selected, it writes the same item 4 times in my table. Here is my code.

I have a listbox of values that I populate from a database. I want the user to be able to re-order the list (by first selecting an item and then clicking 'up' or 'down' buttons) and then save the list back to the database. First of all, I implemented the re-ordering through client-side javascript, which worked great (also it didn't require a postback every time an item was re-ordered). For testing purposes, I'm outputting the contents...

I did a lot of searches and read something about datagrids. But I couldn't find the answer of my simple question, how can I show only my desired columns of a table? for example I wrote this sql query: OleDbDataAdapter1.SelectCommand.CommandText = & _ "Select illNameE From tblIllness" OleDbDataAdapter1.Fill(DsIllness1) But in my datagrid, I get (null) for other ccolumns instead

Hi All, Framework 1.1 listbox control unable to DataBind I've been googling for an answer to this query that appears quite a lot, but none, it seem, answers my problem directly. I am populating a listbox with an array of very simple "Country" objects via a WebService. The Country class contains CountryID,TLDs and Name properties each of which have a getter and setter (I found that properties without

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
