Requery

Hi
I have an overview form giving consolidated info about orders. With a
detail-button I can access the undelying orderform, update whatever I want,
and get back to the overview. And that's the problem. The overview does not
update until I execute a requery (done in vba). But at that moment I lose
the current row.
Is there a way to refresh/requery the overview without losing the current
row ?

Tanx already !

Before the requery store the primary key of the row to a variable,
and after the requery, do a findfirst using the variable.

Instead of the requery, you might use a me.refresh, which usually
updates the data on the form.

Lookup help for the bookmark property of a form. That will give you an
example of exactly what you need.

I will try to be as descriptive as possible, but this error has me stumped and I am not sure what relevant info to include.... I am running Access XP on a Windows XP machine. I initially began developing an app in Access 2000 but converted it several months ago to XP. So the app is now Access XP format also. My app is crashing on a regular basis, with the totally non-descript Microsoft error (Microsoft Access has encountered a...

Hi All, I am developing an Access 2003 project application with the back end in SQL Server 2003. I have a master form that tracks projects, and several subforms on it that track various aspects of the project. On the masterform I have two unbound listboxes that I populate with information regarding the current record in one of the subforms.

I'm a little nervous about slamming my database with a dozen Update queries in a loop that all modify RecordSources of open forms. Will the use of DoEvents and/or a Sleep function ameliorate any risk involved in doing this? Should I include a Requery in the loop after executing each query? For example: For each varQry in Array("qryDeleteOldTransactions", _ "qryDeleteClient Acct", etc., etc.) db.Execute varQry

First issue: When using ADPs you no longer have the ability to issue a me.refresh to save the current record on a form (the me.refresh does a requery in an ADP). We usually do this before calling up another form or report that uses some of the same data. We came up with a work around that saves the current record's ID, does a

I have an unbound main form with an unbound subform. frmProjects fsubProjectList Using combo boxes, the user can select several search criteria on frmProjects and then click a command button. The command button passes the criteria as a string to a query. A subform, which is based on this query, shows the results of the search.

I have a subform within a tabpage that will requery/refresh (?) if I press F9 and it will update the data in the subform, but I have tried various combinations of Me!SubformName.requery Me!Forms!Subformname.requery, etc. to put the F9 functionality into VBA code but nothing seems to work... any ideas? Thanks!

Hello, I have conditional formatting set up on a subform based on a calculated value in the underlying query. For instance, if Sales are >$1000, the query displays "Yes," otherwise it displays "No." The conditional formatting is set up to read the 'Yes' or 'No' value and color the text accordingly. I have an event in the subform that allows users to update the sales. It actually runs an update query behind the scenes. What I want to...

I am using Access 2003. (I am also using ADO in the vast majority of my code. I recently read a post that indicated that ADO is not all that is was initially cracked up to be. In the back of my mind I am wonder if this is causing my problem, but I don’t want to go through the work to convert to DAO unless I know it is truly in my best interest.) I am having problems getting a requery to show up consistently on a couple of forms. I have...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
