How to add a blank entry in a Query based combobox?

I like to have a blank entry at top of the combobox list, so the user
is able to clear the combobox.
Right now, the form displays a empty entry on load, but after chosen a
value once, it is not possible to select a blank entry again. The only
way is to delete the string manually and press enter.

Struggling a bit here & would be grateful for any help. I have a table which has a list of people in it. Each person has a unique ID automatically allocated by Access but also belongs to one of 5 Groups - call them A to E. I'd like to generate a further automatic reference number based on something like Group/Unique ID so when I create a new record Access creates the Unique ID & I then enter in the group and then Access combines the two...

Hi: I have a query which supports a form. Te form is used to edit, update and change records in the table the query is based on. It all works fine EXCEPT that the "New" record (blank updatable record) always appears as the end of the form (i.e. the bottom), whereas it would be very helpful if it appeared at the beginning (the top of the form). Can anyone suggest a way to make this happen? Regards

Hello, I am having many problems with setting up a parameter query that searches by the criteria entered or returns all records if nothing is entered. I have designed an unbound form with 3 fields on it: Date (DateSpan1 and DateSpan2), Originator, and GroupName. I have added a button that triggers a query and uses those fields as its parameter criteria to populate a form. The user must be allowed to either enter all of the

I have a data entry form with a combo box to look up an entrant's name. If the name is already in the table then it pulls up the record and that part of the form works fine. If the name isn't in the table then I want to be able to add it but this part is not working. I enter a name that is not in the table and press Enter. I step through the code and it appears to work until I get to "Exit Sub". At this point a warning message box...

Hi, I have a form with several combo boxes, continuous form format, with record source a query off an Item Table. The fields are Category, Subcategory, and Color. I am displaying descriptions, not ID's, so I have to convert the ID's from various lookup tables. The combo boxes work fine except for subcategory, which is dependent on category. Depending on category, the drop-down box for subcategory will display different items. (for...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
