Showing currency decimal values in formns

Hi All,

I designed an input query as the basis of a form. Some fields (like for pennies) are numbers that I formatted as currency and specified as 2 decimal places. However, it appears to round down anything under 50¢, which then displays as $0.00 and appears to round up anything over 51¢, which then displays as $1.00

How can I get these to show up "Properly" in the form?

Thanks very much,
Chuck

Open the table in design view.
Select the field that gives you this problem.
Change the Field Type to Currency.

The integer type numbers store whole numbers only.

hi Isnt it true that floating type can generate rounding errors if the values are rounded to like the 10th decimal. Since currency is rounded only to the 2nd decimal why must i worry about using float for currency calculations? decimal is slow and memory hog. is it true that mysql calculates internally using double float?

Have any of you good folks out there got an elegant solution for unformatting currency values for writing back to SQLServer: e.g.: $10,100,200.59 to 10100200.59 but for any locale and any currency.

This question appeared years ago in the context of Acc2K and SQL Server 7, but no replies were posted. HOWEVER!! It still seems to be a problem with Acc XP and SQL Server 2000. Surely someone has a fix 6 years down the line... I used the Upsizing Wizard to build a SQL database from an Access back-end and link it to the Access f/e. All the data appear to have gone across OK as viewed from Enterprise Manager, but from the front-end all...

Hi guys, In my DataGrid I have a column that displays decimal values as currency ( I set the Data Formatting expression of that column to {0:C}). So the actual string displayed in the grid looks like $2,295.99. For each row I need to do some additional calculations based on this value, so I need to convert it back to decimal type. But I cannot find a way to get rid of the currency formatting and revert the value back to decimal. I tried...

Just making sure I'm not missing the boat here, but are there any special routines for doing currency math (fixed precision stuff) in .NET? The wonderful problems of doing math on decimals tend to shine when writing accounting software :-) How are others dealing with this? -- - Mitchell Vincent

Ok, this is driving me nuts... I am using VS.NET 2003 and trying to take an item out of a row in a loosely-typed dataset and place it in a label as a currency. As it is now, I am getting my unformatted data values (as decimals) just fine, so I know there's not a problem with the data retrieval, just the formatting. I have read that this would work: lblPrice.Text = prodRow.ToString("C");

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
