Recreating Design Master question

Using A2K. Last year, a design master for a customer was developed and
placed it in their folder on the network which I do not have rights to.
I found a replica on my PC that I would like to convert to a design
master so that I can make changes to the tables per the customer's
request. If I choose Tools..Replicat ion..Recover Design Master, it
recognizes that the design master is in the customer's folder. Access
Help says I should sync first then do the recover but I don't want to
affect the customer's master in any way. Should I go ahead with the
recover or is there something else I need to do?

Can I just copy the design master from the customer's folder and make
changes to the copy, then copy it back to the customer's folder?

After it's been recovered (or recreated) and the requested changes
made, then do I create what replica's are needed, then copy the new
design master back to their folder?

Thanks for any help or advice.

Hi All, There is some additional info I forget on this same topic I just posted. I have a database design question, pls give me some help.. I want to define tables for salesman's sales target commission . The commission could be given per EITHER sales amount of : Group of Products OR Group of Brand. e.g : the data example : For one salesman_A : product_1, product_2, product_3 etc.. => sales = $100 - $200 =>

Hello Everyone, I'm really stuck on how to design this application, so I thought I'd see if anyone had any general ideas on how to proceed. I'd say I'm an intermediate level Access developer. I volunteered to help my kid's school (a small non-profit) with a tremendous need they have for a complete student administration database. I've developed fairly complex databases before but this one is very unique in how it must be designed.

I came up with a replication configuration that is basically the result of all the restrictions of replication as well as the restrictions of allowable software on work PC's and I was curious if anyone would point out any flaws or possible problems with the design. I'm limited to Access 2000 professional edition (Thus I cannot use indirect sync or internet sync) and cannot install anythird party controls (i.e.

Hey all, I'm trying to understand Master/Detail concepts in VB.NET. If I do a data adapter fill for both customer and orders from Northwind where should that dataset live? What client is responsible for instantiating the orders class? Would it be the ui layer or the master class in the business layer? thanks,

Having done most of the background sql coding I'm now ready to start designing my asp.net web pages. A basic question though - is there a way of having 'common' elements on pages (e.g. a header)? This used to be done using frames, but I undertand these are now not advised. Basically what I want is to have some text/code that is common to all pages, but that I only need to update in one place?

Hello, for a large web site project we would like to use nested Master Pages. Unfortunely VS2005 is not able to show pages in design mode when nested Master pages are used. This has the consequence that also each content page cannot be used in design mode. It is impossible to design hundrets of pages in source mode without design

I have a modular set of xml schemas that are being <include/>d into a master schema. The modules have no target namespace, but `inherit' the namespace of the master schema -- this is the so called Chameleon design. The master schema in its turn is <import/>ed into other schemas with different namespaces. Now, in the modules I'd like to use Schematron rules. Problem is, these do not seem to inherit the target namespace of the master...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
