That is ancient code kept alive only by the wizards. Use either...

DoCmd.RunComman d acCmdSaveRecord

....or...

Me.Dirty = False

Try some of the methods described here

which also contains a discussion on different methods in light of a
flaw in Access

We have an asp.net app with about 200 data entry forms. Customers may enter data into any number of forms. Each form's data is persisted in a corresponding sql table. When data entry is complete, it needs to be processed. Here's where the questions start. How can we easily determine in which tables a customer has data and how best to select that data? We're not opposed to putting all the data in a single table. This table would...

I have a ton of queries that I need users to be able to view. I'd like to have them viewed in a datasheet-view form instead of directly, so that I can keep the users from futzing with the data. I'd like to do this in a temporary database, creating an autoform based on the query and making that form the source object for a subform in a pre-existing main form. I just ran a quick-and-dirty test, using the code at the bottom of this post,...

Hello all, I have a 97 database that I have been trying to consolidate code. Most of my forms use visual aids for the user to guide them along with the data entry. For example, I will make the background color green to let the user this is where you should be entering data, red if the data has been validated and accepted. I was wondering, with the following code is there a way to create a function where I can LOOP? That way if I need...

I know I should not be doing this, but I find it very useful. I have a database in Access which stores data for a small company. Sometimes we need to add similar information to different tables. Currently I am already doing something similar by copying certain records into the same table. The only thing that changes is one field. Please look at the code: Dim MyDb As DAO.Database, MyRs As DAO.Recordset Dim strCode As String

I haven't been able to figure this out and would appreciate some help... I have two tables, both with autonumber primary keys, and linked in a conventional master-child relationship. I've created forms for both those tables, and inserted the child table form into the master table form as a subform. It works just as it is supposed to, in that I can create a new master record, and then add detail records.

Hi All, I'm hoping that someone could help me out since I'm new with Access. Background: Database was set up as a simple data entry and reporting tool for Program Initiatives. The data entry page has main form with 9 sections (1 main section and 8 subsections). These subsections are all employed using subforms. These are all joined through the ProgramID. The Report is set up in a similar fashion with main and subreports too. ...

I have a main form with a subform and a second subform nested to the first subform. The data entry property for all three forms (main, subform and sub-subform) is set to "yes" because I am intending this form to be used for data entry only. The main form has a combo box from which the user can select a lake. The first subform allows the user to enter survey data for the lake. The sub-subform allows the user to enter additional (plant...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
