query parameter from open form field.....

I have a form that has two sub forms.

I would like to use the current value of one of the subform fields as a
search parameter in a query.

I tried pointing to the name of the form/field within the query, but it
didn't use the current field value as the search criteria......I get
the pop up Dialog that says "Enter Parameter Value"......

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

A control on a subform must be referred to via the main form's
name using the following hierchichical convention:

Forms!MainformN ame!SubformCont rolName.Form!su bformfieldname.

Note that the SubformControlN ame may or not be the same as shown
in the forms panel of the database window. It must be the value
shown in the name property of the properties popup for the
subform as seen from the main form .

the same caveat applies to subformfieldnam e.

I have a subform that is in datasheet view.
The form has a variable # of rows based on the master form.

I want to be able to click on a value in one of the columns and open a
query that is based on that value.

I can use the "On dbl Click" event and use an Do.Cmd Openquery to open
the query......

How do I get it to use the particular cell value I clicked on as a
parameter?

Seems more dificult when the form is a "datasheet" ...

How does Access identify the rows of a datasheet form, and how would
the "On dbl Click" event know what row you clicked on?????

I have a report with most fields populated by a query. However, some of the fields are variable in such a way that their values cannot be queried from a table. At present the values for these fields are being entered by the user as parameter values when the query is run. But there are four fields which need to be entered, and the pop-up dialog boxes can be annoying. I would like to have a form where the user can enter the data for...

I am trying to extract the values from a query using VBA. Specifically, I want to concatenate all the values of the "rosEmail" field from query "qselRosterEmailList" into one string (strEmails). I can get one record's result by using the DLookup fuction, of course, but I want to get every record's value. To do this, I believe I need to build a recordset, but I do not know how. I've read about doing it using DAO in Access 97, but I am...

Hi, i'm making an application in Access and in the query made, i'd like the user to fill in a parameter when opening the query (in a report). It's much easier for the user if the parameter was a dropdown list from which he can select, because the parameters are rather long... Does anyone know how to make that dropdown list? TIA

I've been trying to get this piece to work for a few hours, but have given up. I hope someone out there can help, I think the issue is relatively straightforward, but being a novice, I'm stumped. Below you will find the code I've written and the error that results. I'm hoping that someone can give me some direction as to what syntax or parameter is missing from the code that is expected by VBA. Overview: I'm trying to copy calculated...

I have a form which enables users within our company to do an intranet reservation of available resources (laptops, beamers, etc). The MySql database queries are already in place, as is the ASP administration panel. The frontend that users will see however, still needs some work. I'm really close, but since I'm no...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
