Calling oracle stored procedure with parms from MS Access 2002.

Raj
Hi,

Does anybody know how to call an oracle stored procedure ( with
parameters ofcourse) from MS Access 2002.

I want to invoke an oracle stored procedure which takes 2 parameters.
Thanks,
Raj.

You'll need to use a pass-through query. You'll have to alter the SQL to
include the value of the parameters before you call it: unlike normal Access
queries, pass-through queries are incapable of either prompting for
parameter values or using values from open forms.

You could try something like this:

'CREATE PASS-THRU ON FLY, EXECUTE, DON'T SAVE

Set qitem = db.CreateQueryD ef("")
qitem.Connect = "ODBC;DSN=Oracl e dsnname;UID=use rid;PWD=passwor d"
qitem.ReturnsRe cords = False
qitem.ODBCTimeo ut = 15
qitem.sql = "CALL Function(param list)"
qitem.Execute
Set qitem = Nothing

Is there a way to call an Oracle Procedure using the MS OLD DB Provider for Oracle object in a SQL Server 2000 DTS package? If it can't be done this way, is there another way to retrieve data from an Oracle database using an Oracle procedure to a SQL Server table? Also, can parameters be passed into Oracle from SQL Server via a procedure? Our Oracle DBA does NOT want to create views to enable SQL Server to access the data. Examples...

Hi All, I'm currently writing a z/OS DB2 Stored Proc in C, using an example from the IBM Stored Procedure guide (SG24-7083-00). The database calls to read and update the database work fine...however, I can't seem to figure out how to pass parms to the C Program. The compile, bind, and run using DB2BATCH all work fine, however, when I attempt to access any values passed into the program, they're not present. Here's part of the JCL...

Hi, I am a SQL Server programmer using Oracle for the first time. In our .NET client apps which use a SQL Server back end, we would use Stored Procedure exclusively for all database access for increased security as well as the pre-compiled advantage. To minimize trips to the db server, we would often call SPs that return more than one recordset. For example: CREATE Stored Procedure HelloWorld As

Hey everyone, Using Access 2003 and SQL Server 8.0 I have a stored procdure on SQL Server that is launched from my access database where I send the parms. The stored procedure on the server has several updating steps and delete steps. I do rollbacks on these steps so if one step fails all data returns to it status prior to the stored procedure being launched.

Hello, I am attempting to call a (Delphi) win32 DLL from a Delphi.Net webservice. I am using a slightly modified version of the hello world webservice that comes with Delphi 2006. The DLL works fine when called from a win32 app. The problem I am encountering is that the string being returned to the caller is in Chinese (No, I'm not kidding). (I need it to be in English). Background: The DLL uses 3 pchar parms, 2 in and one out. In...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
