Form not updating query and table

I have a form that when the monthly payment is entered, it calculates
the annual payment. The correct numbers appear in the form, but they
are not in the table or query from which the form was created. The
calculation is done in the form. All new record entries update the
query/table, but I need to get those records that were there before the
form was created updated with the annual payment so that my year-end
report is correct. I thought that just tabbing through the records in
form would do it, but it hasn't. What's up with this?

Answer 1 (probably the one you want): "The calculation is done in the form."
You need to figure out what event in the form triggers the calculation, and
reproduce that.

Answer 2 (probably the better one): Why store the annual payment at all?
Do these calculations change from the time they're entered? If not, a far
better use of Access's capabilities would be to recalculate them, using a
query, whenever they're needed.

I wish to type in a number in my "Code" field, for instance 1060, I then wish the number 1060 to trigger an event that will fill in the next field (township field) For instance, 1060 brings up and fills in name "Spencer Tp". I have 30 townships,2 cities, 6 villages and identifiers consisting 38 separate code numbers assigned by our county government to identify each township, city and village. I ran a "Make Table Query", have created a...

I have a Table that contains data that I use in a query to manipulte the data through expressions. I have a form that uses the query for manipulating the data. How do I write the changed values back to the table from the form? I know it changes the query values so do I have to use an update query? I also need this to be refreshed in realtime. I have tried relationships but I find it adds a drop-down box to the table and is not really what I...

Hi, I am working on a genealogy form. The only table (so far) lists everybody in the family, one record per person. Each record has an autonum ID. The parent form (frmMainForm) displays the data in each record, which includes the ID of the father and the mother (who also have records in the table). One record per form. I have a Tab Control in the form, and in one of the tabs I have a subform (sfmSiblings) in which I wish to list...

I have created a input form that enters a number in a talble. If I open the form again it enters a new record instead of editing the existing record. It seems like it should be very basic but I see no way to do it other than a complicated macro.

I have a Memo field in a table to hold notes from a conversation a social worker has had with a client (this is for a non-profit). If the user needs to update the memo field, I need to find the original record (which I am doing fine - getting the correct key) and I need to update the "notes" with the new value from the form, which I store in a String Variable. (I've tried storing in a Variant variable; didn't work for me)

On my form I have combo boxes. These combo boxes, after updating them, populate respective listboxes that are located below the combo boxes on the same form. I am trying to use a "generate report" button located on my form to print all of the list box values (that have been updated via selection from combo boxes) from the form to the report. I've tried using a macro with the code: Macro Name: cmdGenerateReport : On Click Action:...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
