DoCmd.OpenRepor t Crashing Access 2000

Hi there,

I've converted an Access 97 front end to Access 2000, but when I try to
run a VBA DoCmd.OpenRepor t (e.g. DoCmd.OpenRepor t
"rpt_programme_ listing") line, Access completely crashes ("Microsoft
Access for Windows has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are
sorry for the inconvenience." ).

The reports themselves run fine when I double-click on them - it's only
when I try to run them through code (including in the immediate window)
that the programme bombs.

I've compacted, repaired, and decompiled in every possible combination
and sequence both before and after conversion, and nothing has helped.

Any ideas what might help?

Thanks,
LoopyNZ

I've solved this problem by creating a new database in Access 2000 and
importing all the objects from the Access 97 version.

Hi- I have a relatively simple report that I open in an Access '97 VBA procedure, using the Docmd.OpenReport "rptName", acViewNormal syntax. The problem is that doing this usually crashes Access! No error message is given, the thing just vanishes! Why? How do I fix this?

I've been renaming the ALL high level objects in a database and searching out the dependent objects to change the references. This was all going fairly well, until DoCmd.Rename stopped working on Form objects. It hits the first Form object and gives me an invalid name complaint. But if I run it again, it will do the Forms just fine. I read something about a similar bug, if the module was not saved before running. But the module in question...

Greetings, I originally used a button on a from created via the button wizard (access 2007) to run my report which was based on a query. Since I wanted to add some validation I removed the button and added my own code (as below):- However the open report is just a preview and the user cant exit the preview screen without directly using access controls.

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
