Hi:
Can someone answer the following questions about "Pages"
a. Are they are good way to develop web based access applications?
b. Is there a good manual like "Pages for Idiots" which will help in setting up a simple
application?

No, they load into a web browser, there the similarity ends. They're
basically Access running inside your browser. The client side must be
able to "see" the database, it will work on a LAN but get into the realm
of WANs and the internet, where normal web pages are good, these ones
will fail.

And, to reinforce... each user must be using Internet Explorer 5.5 or later,
thus also running Windows, and must have the Office Web Extensions
installed. They can't be used with any other browser, or any other O/S. So
they are useful only where you have control over the users' software
configuration.

Hi!
I'm playing around with Wilson's master pages for ASP.NET 1.1. It seems ok,
but I'm really struggling with the following two problems:
1)
I want all .aspx pages to inherit from the same codebehind (lots of static
content). Some pages have a different menu. I want to be able to, in the
individual .aspx pages, be able to add e.g. <mp:content id="menu"

Hi all,
We have created some "Base" class pages for our WebForms and UserControls.
For instance, when we create a WebForm called "WebForm1.aspx", instead of
inheriting from "System.Web.UI.Page" we implement from our "Base" class page
which itself inherits from "System.Web.UI.Page" -- I know, pretty standard.
We do the same with our UserControls, instead they inherit from
"System.Web.UI.UserControl".
Now, there are some methods that we...

In Internet Explorer under the tools/internet options menu on the general
tab, there is a settings button under Temporary internet files. In there the
user can specify when to "Check for newer versions of stored pages." I want
to make sure that my pages are refreshed every time they visit regardless of
this setting. Is there a way to do this? Thanks ... Ed

Hi Everyone,
As it says in the title, I'm looking for a way to display a page while
long running operations are performed on the server. Ideally, I'd like
some way to push the current request onto some stack, where it would
continue to be processed asynchronously (most importantly preserving
things like view state, form post data, etc). In the interim, while the
main request is processed, a friendly page will be displayed to the
user....

"Pages" as in the web page UI to an MS Access back end.
Just had a lunchtime discussion with a couple of co-workers and none of us have
been able to actually use a "Page".... but our experiences were all several
years ago... we tried it back then, found we couldn't do anything "Real-World"
with it, and gave up.
Anybody actually doing something with these things?
If so, what version of MS Access?

Hello, new guy here, Access programmer for about 4 years. I need to
be able to program a web-based front end for an Access 2002 database I
use at my work. I need interactive forms, and charts generated by

learn. Any good resources for me? I've done some googling, but found
a lot of sites that I would need to sift through.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
