memory issues in ms access - Microsoft Access / VBA

Hi

I need some advice about ms-access limitations. i have some databases
written by others i have been working with that keeps crashing.
different on different computers, so it sounds like a memory thing. i
have some tables which are deveral hundred thousand records long and a
few tens of records wide. will this cause a problem? is there a
total max no records or database/file size? any links to websites
discussing this would be much appreciated.

File size limit it 2GB. Compacting may help.

You did not mention your version, or what triggers the crash, but here's
some things to consider:

1. In Access 2000 and later, Name AutoCorrect causes *many* problems
including crashes. Partial list in:

2. In Access 2002 and 2003, there's a nasty bug where subforms can crash if
the foreign key field (i.e. the ones named in the LinkChildFields ) is not
represented by a text box on the subform. The text box does not have to be
visible, but it has to be present so the reference is to a member of the
Controls collection and not merely an AccessField type.

3. It's also essential to check you have the latest service pack for your
version of Office and also (at least as important) for JET 4.

4. There are also certain subqueries that will crash Access.

5. Code that fails to close what you opened can also cause memory leaks.
