Openargs in A2003

I am almost certain that when I opened a form in A97 that openargs was
available in that form's class module for the whole time the form was open.

Apparantly this is not the case in A2003. From some development I've
been doing, it seems that it is only available during the on open event
(and possibly other events such as on load, but I'm not sure). Once the
form is loaded (in this cae a popup property = true), openargs goes
back to null.

I know this is not the result of any untrapped errors - I've stepped
through the whole process and once the form has been opened,
?forms!frmName. openargs on the debug window gives me null. Further,
form level variables are still working and not reset (which I assume
still happens with untrapped errors in A2003?) and when I assign
openargs to a form level variable at the beginning fo the on open event,
the form level variable does not get reset.

To crown it all, there is no online nor off line help on openargs.

Is my diagnosis (openargs goes to null after form is opened) correct, do
you think?

I just tried with me (Windows2003/Access2003) and
all works ok.
I open Form3 with:
DoCmd.OpenForm "Form3", , , , , , "Bruno"

I have in Form3 a button with:
MsgBox Me.OpenArgs
which gives me Bruno.

I've also full explanation on my Access Help.
My References: VBA, Access, DAO 3.60

I think something went wrong in your Access
installation.

Ciao
Bruno

Although I save my app in A200 format, this should make no difference -
openArgs still exists.

Perhaps there is some other proiblem with this statement?
?forms!frmName. openargs
Try repeated calls to

MsgBox Me.OpenArgs

Thanks Darryl & Bruno. I wonder if this had something to do with my
form gone missing in another post. Bizarre or what?

Hi. I am trying to open a form using 'openargs' parameter of the docmd.openform action. The problem is that I would like to pass the form some character (string) and integer data. In searching for a solution to a current problem I ran across a thread from 2005 on the same issue, ( http://www.thescripts.com/forum/thread202473.html ). In that case it appeared that the problem had just resolved itself. I can believe that. I have a similar problem in a VBA program, using Access in Office XP. The problem seems to have a mind...

I am converting an application from A97 to A2003. I have 2 tables created by another application as a Foxpro.dbf. The table has no index. The connect string in A97 is FoxPro 2.0;HDR=NO;IMEX=2;DATABASE=C:\Test It's really easy to connect to those tables in A97. I'm having difficulties in A2003. I'm trying to follow the instructions in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
