Inherited database with absolute hyperlinks

I have received a database that has absolute hyperlinks (I think
that's what they're called). Here's an example:
d:\office\files \mc kinzie kenneth\documen ts\information filed
7-15-97.pdf

I can't put the files in drive d:\ -- that's my CD drive.

Is there any way to globally alter the hyperlink definitions so I can
point them to the directory where I am keeping the files?

The hyperlinks are either stored in a table or hardcoded. There's a good
chance they are in a table looking at the mc kinzie kenneth\ subfolder.
Check for a table. If they are hardcoded, you need to find the code and
change it to what you want.

I'm using ASP 3 and Access 2000. I have hyperlinks that are stored in a field in the database. Here is my code: <%=(rsItems("HostingCompany"))%> Inside the Hosting Company field is the hyperlink. When the field shows in the browser I want it to look like www.etc.com or www.whatever.com I've been trying stuff with the a href. I can't seem to get the code right. Thanks.

Hi all, Ok - this leads on from speaking to a couple here and in the SQL server group... I've an application which allows the user to type in their text into a form, they add 'happy' tags around their words, the app then replaces these with the html equivalent and saves it to the database... Thus far this has been working very well.

Hi, I'm sure this a FAQ-worthy one, but.... I need a fairly simple database to catalogue a large number of photographs. The primary purpose is to be able to search on fields to see if a photo exists already and can be re-used. I want most of the fields to be pre-defined, maybe in the form of

I'm running into problems with VisualStudio.NET2003 and Windows Forms inheritance. It _feels_ like a bug, but it could just as well be a misunderstanding on my part regarding how the VS Designer handles inheritance. Hi All I have a strange problem on my portal. I have an email-blasting page on the portal that uses FreeTextBox to edit the message body. There is also a subject field and a couple of drop down lists to select a group or a person to send an email to. There is also a Send button that initializes an email message and calls a WebMail function to send this message. Everything works perfect except one small detail.

Hello tech savvy gurus! I hope someone can help me! THE PROBLEM: "Cannot open specified file" when I click on a hyperlink in an Access database when it is located on our server. THE BACKGROUND: I created a folder "Document Library" on my local drive, which contains document sub-folders and the database. For referential integrity, I designed the database with relative hyperlinks (e.g. Folder\File.pdf). The hyperlinks worked perfectly...

I have a happily working set of asp pages which read from the database via include file "./_private/include/database.mdb". However, when I try to gain access to this database on pages one folder removed using "../_private/include/database.mdb", the pages won't display. This whole system works fine on my home test server (iis.5.0), but 'breaks' when uploaded to the public server. I know the path to database is correct because the upper...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
