I have a table of mappings of various codes, tbl_Map with fields
mapID, code1 and code2
I need to write and Update command that for each row in tbl_Map
updates another table's, tbl_Codes, "code" field with code2 where it =
code1
So in the end, tbl_Codes contain codes based on the mapping rules in
tbl_Map.
I really have no clue how to write this, so any help anyone could
provide would be great! 1 1681
Hi there,
Here's the Query for you:
UPDATE tbl_Codes INNER JOIN tbl_Map ON tbl_Codes.code = tbl_Map.code1 SET
tbl_Codes.code = [tbl_Map].[code2];

Hi,
I have a form based on a table. When I filter the form I want to run a
report based on the same table with the same filter as the form. No problem
until I want to filter a combo box where the text value is on a different
table. The me.filter is then a text instead of the id-number from the lookup
table. This causes the report to prompt for the parameter.
How do I get by this problem? Do I need to create a temporary table? I
rather...

I'm having some trouble with VB in Access 2000. I have a form that the
user enters in just one number (in this case, it's a base salary) and
then the program is going to do a bunch of math (which is not all
shown) and populate a table with these new, calculated salary values.
I know I shouldn't be storing calculated values in the table, but I
have to have these numbers in there as a lookup too.
Anyway I think I might be getting too...

Hello,
For my datagrid I added a datagrid table style to include columns from
my lookup tables. These display the values in the lookup tables rather
than just the integer key value stored in the data table.
When I make selections in bound combo boxes on the form and save the
changes the datagrid which is populated by the following stored
procedure does not reflect the changes for the referenced lookup tables
until I close and reload...

Hello,
(Windows forms - SQL Server)
I fill my datagrid with a stored procedure that includes relationships
to lookup tables so that users can see the values of the combobox
selections rather than the key value that are stored in the table.
It works well if the comboboxes are selected when the row is created.

I realize that lookup fields in a table should not be used but that is
the way this particular creator has done. Could someone help me by

how do I write a sql statement in code that updates the fldTeacher1

Hey everyone, this is driving me crazy. I have a table which lists all the files users have on the server. This table is called risklist. It lists the pathname and size. The goal is to make a form that users can open up, filter for their user id and choose one of four options for each individual record.
I've built a query that runs based on a command button in the form that filters for the userid in a combo box on that same...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
