I'm using the following code to add a row to a table (for holding
images) in my database (obtained from
http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/image_asp.asp?df=100&forumid=38225&select=1038401):
public string AddImage(byte buffer, string contentType)
{
string strSql = "SELECT * FROM WebImages";
DataSet ds = new DataSet("Image");
OdbcDataAdapter tempAP = new OdbcDataAdapter(strSql, this._objConn);
OdbcCommandBuilder objCommand = new...

SQL 2000
I thought I would throw this out there for some feedback from others.
I'd like to know if you feel using MS auto-increment field is a good
solution these days or should one grow their own ?
Thanks,
Me.

Using an immediate if to fill a field on a form based on the value of
another field. During data entry on the form this methodology works well.
When looking at the results in the datasheet view or the underlying table
this immediate if field contains the default value that was set when
originally setting up the table and the form.
=IIf(=10100100, "CR", "DB") => this works well in the flow of the
form but does not actually populate the...

Hi,
I have a problem. I need to auto populate fields based on a value
entered in combo box. Initially, I put all the required fields in the
combo box, and hide it (set to 0",0",0", ...), then use code:
Name=cbBox.column(3) to get the value.
It works fine, but I have problem with performance. The source of the
combo box is a table from another database that keeps adding up
(currently we have around 1500 records, around 5-20 new records...

Hi everybody-
I have 2 tables, Hearings and Rulings. Both have primary keys called,
CaseID, that are autonumbers. I don't want both tables to have the
same autonumber. For example, if Hearings has 55, then I want Rulings
to have a number greater than 55. Two or more Hearings may be entered
before a Ruling is entered. For example, Hearings with CaseIDs= 55,
56, and 57 may be entered before a Ruling or vice versa. There is no
definite...

Before I started to create table, etc to track unique form field record
number assigments I thought I'd check to see if there is now a better way to
do this in .NET.
I have a parent form (table) and children form (table). Relationship equals
one to many. I'd like to auto number the fields accordingly and traditionaly
I assign a unique number based on a table value that I retrieve + 1.
i.e.
Parent record field value = 1
Children record...

I had an access database that i use as an ordering system. I have a
form for entering customer details. When i add a new customer on the
form the customer number is an auto number that appears when i type in
the details.
I have just moved over to mysql server with access as the front end. I
have setup the sql tables with the customer number as autonumber.
When i go into the form and add a new customer it does not generate the

Hi.
I have an ASP.NET application written in C#. To log in, a user must
provide their email address and password. I already give the user a
"Remember my Email Address" check box. If they check it when logging
in, I store the email address in a cookie and automatically display
the address when they login again.
I now want to give the user a "Remember my Password" checkbox. If they
check this new checkbox, I'm planning on encrypting...

Introduction
In case of rich applications, you must have observed that a text field behaves like a dynamic combo box. When the user enters some characters in the text field, a popup will come up with a list of values as suggestions to the user. This feature is called auto completion. In case of Eclipse editor, you must have
seen while writing java code, if the developers presses "Ctrl+Space" a dynamic list box come up with multiple...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
