Export to Word or Excel

Is there a way to export an MS Access Report to Word/Excel that looks
EXACTLY like it appears in Access? When I export to Excel, only
certain data appears, titles, headings... all missing. The format is
not aligned... When export to Word, all my lines (table lines) are
gone, making it hard to read.

Isn't it wonderful that a suite of programs is so intricately designed
to function together in away that they can't convert into each others

Welcome to the joys of exporting!

There are three things you can produce (without the additional cost of
Adobe Pagemaker):
1. Word: You can get all the text, font sizes, bolding, and italics,
because in reality, it's just Rich Text Format (RTF). You can get
font colors, but NO conditional colors (IME). Outputing in columns is
a bit tricky as if you have fonts of unequal size in one column,
they'll occasionally duplicate rows in the other column(s). Also,
what was "page headers" and "page footers" are just inline text in the
body of the document.
2. Excel: Unless you wanna do all kinds of automation (to insert
pretty headers and all that), I tell my users: You get column
headings and data. Additionally here, it's probably far easier/better
to use a query to export your data, or (as you found out) exporting a
report to Excel can get ugly really quickly.
3. Snapshot: Basically, portable print-preview. Looks 100%
identical to your report. Downsides: While free, everyone who wants
to view the output MUST install the snapshot viewer (check MS's
website for install file). Also, there's no editing (may be a plus or
a minus depending on what the end user needs to do with your data).

Happy programming,

You have a few choices.

One, you can use the pdf format. There is a good number of free pdf makers
on the web.

One I use a lot, is here:

It is absolutely Free,

And free means no watermarks, no nag screens, no annoying Popup
advertisements, no time limits etc.

It is also very fast, and works very well. I highly recommend it.

There is also a promising open source one here. (but the above is really
Open source:
And, if you want to use word..and keep all the graphics, then there is a
free solution here:

Hi, Our company has a pretty large Intranet application, it has about 200 reports that mostly utilize xml and xsl to generate HTML format. We like another option to do the reporting, specifically we desire a GUI interface to design the reports and the outputs can be exported to pdf, Excel and highly desirable MS Word documents. I know Crystal reporter and MS Reporting service can export to pdf and Excel, not sure about Word.
