Why doesnt this work in access?
bstring = replace(astring, "<*>", "")
I want to replace a portion of a string between and including the brackets
(html code) and replace it with nothing.
I thought the * was a wild card character.
I searched for regular expressions on the net, but I don't know if I should

One of my users had a corrupt front end that wouldn't open.
My app is launched using a launching application (logon app). The logon app
has a button for downloading a "fresh" copy of the front end from the server
to the user's PC. I thought that this was a good idea since Access seems
susceptible to corruption.
I told the user to open the logon form and click the "Download" button, which
would then replace the corrupt front end on his...

I need to map several columns of data from one database to another
where the data contains multiple spaces (once occurance of a variable
number or spaces) that I need to replace with a single space. What
would be the most efficient way to do this? I am using SQL2K. I was
thinking a function since I know of no single Transact-SQL command
that can accomplish this task.

Here is my replace query and I need to run this on every column in my
table. Right now I manually enter the column name (_LANGUAGES_SPOKEN)
but this is time consuming and would like to automate this process as
much as possible.
Update PROFILE
SET LANGUAGES_SPOKEN = replace(cast(_LANGUAGES_SPOKEN as
nvarchar(255)),char(13)+char(10),':')
Thanks,

I created a command button using the record navigation feature, find record. Does anyone know how to turn off the functionality of the "replace" tab that gives the user the ability to replace the data in a table? I would like to give the user the ability to search and recall a record with the search feature in order to locate a record for editing; however, I do not want them to have the ability to replace any data. Any information would be...

I am trying to replace any occurance of minus-point "-." with
minus-zero-point "-0."
My regex: Regex repoint_num = new Regex(@"\-\.");
My data: string xyz = "-.9";
My command: repoint_num.Replace(expr, "0.");
The match is detected but the replace does not occur.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
