File - Get External Data - Import - Text Type - Advanced - Specs PROBLEM

File - Get External Data - Import - Text Type - Advanced - Specs PROBLEM

Can anyone assist me with a problem ?

When attempting to specify an import specification using ;

File - Get External Data - Import - Text Type - Advanced - Specs

Is it possible to specify a Spec layout, save it and then - at a later
point - amend the Spec ?

If anyone could assist, I would be very grateful.

Kind regards,

Michael

Yes - and it looks like you're heading in the right direction already.
Perhaps you should just take a copy of your database and spend a couple of
minutes getting some hands-on experience with these. I am sure that will be
more useful than a newsgroup reply. If you get stuck on any particular
aspect then try the help files, Google search and if no luck - then post
back.

Hey, I'm building an ontology in Protégé and I want to transform parts of it (e.g. the instances) to HTML with XSL. When I was transforming another file with 'simple' XML-tags like <author> before, I got it working, but the OWL-file is formatted differently and I don't know how to access the elements. I'll post the .owl file below, but this is basically what I want to get from the file (the course name): <Course...

Hello, I'm trying to export a query containing contact information, including a field. Some zip codes have one or two leading zeros, for example, San Juan, PR (00927) and Springfield, MA (01104). When I export to a comma separated value (.csv) file, the zip code for San Juan becomes "927" and for Springfield becomes "1104". How can I prevent the leading zero(s) from being trimmed in the exported .csv file? Because the table contains...

I am importing a .csv file into Access that has 37 fields. My problem is that sometimes the last field only has data at the end of the column (it looks like when you import a file into Access, for the last field, it only checks the top few 'cells' to see if there is any data, if not, the field is not imported). How do I 'force' Access to import the field, regardless if there is data in the top of the field or not? For instance, I might...

Hello all-- I'm working on a legacy Access 2000 application which imports a space delimited text file. There's a line of code: DoCmd.TransferText acImportFixed, "ClaimSpecsEDS", "ImportedClaims", Me!txtLocation which I know is importing the text file. From reading, I know that the "ClaimSpecsEDS" referred to in the line of code is the specification

Hi. I'm new to this board and have a few questions about using the method referred to in the topic of this message. I have manually transferred over 1/2 million records from a text file into my Access table in under 1 minute, using File>Get External Data>Import, then specifying .txt as the data source, selecting the text file, and walking through the resulting Wizard. I'm thinking I can do the same thing with DoCmd.TransferText, but...

I have been through every trick I know, or has been suggested. I have a one to two million line fixed field database in text format. I want to bring it into Access 97. When I use the external data import, the list of files to import does not include text files of any type, only other database formats. On a 102,000 line text file, I was able to split it with Word 97, import the split files into Excel 97 one at a time, and then save...

How do you read a tab delimited text file? The file has 3 colums of data. I can read fixed width text files using the left and mid functions. I had rather not use transfer text and import specs.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
